They have two cars.

With Adrian, the megatunnel and a decent engine we must surely start thinking about Lance as '26 WDC, and as we know that will be a hard gap to close for the others in subsequent years.

How does 'Lance Stroll three time World Champion' sound to you?

With Astons new £150 million wind tunnel coming on line next year and apparently twice the size of anyone elses then I'd be amazed if he didn't end up at Silverstone.

TBF with that tunnel and with its capabilities Aston could probably employ anyone and win, with Newey 2026 we could be looking back at 2024 and remembering how close the racing was!
It won’t be twice the size of anyone else’s, they are limited to 60 or 66% scale models.

More chance of Horner winning husband of the year award than Lance becoming a three time World Champion

Many of you need to go and listen to this interview from the end of last year. He specifically mentions the 3 times Ferrari tried to court him and why they didn't work out then. But I took that these things weren't insurmountable. And he also mentioned that any role he'd have, would NEED to be on site in Maranello

Astons new wind tunnel is nice and all, but he didn't need a top quality one before to design world title crushing cars. So its largely irrelevant.

I also think Fred will be able to keep most of the political "noise" (Cough Gazettta!) away from Newey on a day to day basis.

Id love to see it. But also Id love to see him take a huge pay cut and go to Williams for the love of the sport!

Newey is an aero Geek, as such you want to play with the newest toys. I think it quite the draw especially as RB will have quite a restriction on their wind tunnel time.

This last year or two the gossip is far more interesting than basically any racing taking place. Not a good place for F1.

More chance of Horner winning husband of the year award than Lance becoming a three time World Champion finishing a season above his teammate.

Given the "we can't outbid Audi" chat, small chance of Newey to Sauber?

It's all very intriguing.

I'd imagine he's on mega bucks, millions per year. Would RB be happy to pay that for another 2.5 years knowing he'll be hard at work at home anyway?

Or would it make more sense to come to some sort of compensation deal that would allow him to start work straight away without garden shears in hand?

Genuinely don't have a clue where he'll end up but I hope it's Ferrari.

I imagine Horner is squirming a bit more than usual too, which is nice.

Harsh.

Harsh but true of course.

Thanks for posting.

Yep.
Sadly.

This is the most exciting thing that's happened in F1 this year and that's not even an exaggeration.

Regardless of the money (and he doesn't really need a huge payday) and toys I'm suspect working for Stoll Senior is not without challenges.

My virtual money is on Ferarri with Lewis, even to a neutral supporter that is a dream team.

I'm going to go with this order of likelihood...

1) Stay at RB
2) Retire
3) Join Ferrari
4) Join AM

That’s very unlikely. It will be the usual new regulations issue where one team comes up with the best solution by a long way, the rest try and catch up but due to budget caps limiting development will struggle to do it for years.

I hope Newey leaves F1 altogether. His cars have frequently been the cause of one driver having a distinct advantage. Fair enough, that's been the norm for many decades, but he's had more than his fair share of the fast ones.

Ah, but did you think the same of Chapman?

At least Chapman built cars which, although very fast, often fell apart hehe
