Er.. why would a Ferrari championship whether with Hamilton or not be the 'crowning moment' of Newey's career? Given how incredibly successful he has been, the idea that suddenly a Ferrari championship tops all that has gone before is pretty risible imo.

It would certainly be a fairytale moment for all the key players and bring a bit of magic back to what has become a very bleak and tarnished sport I'd say. Perhaps not Newey's greatest achievement (that's for him to say) but I certainly see the desire on all fronts for this to happen.

2022 was the most exciting season i've ever seen in F1, when you couldn't put a fag paper between Merc and RB.
I'm sure there have been many great historical battles, but it got pretty dull when Merc dominated, and these last two years just reminds me of that season when Brawn pulled the rug from everyone with their double diffuser - and Jenson couldn't be touched.

Indeed. Like it or not, Ferrari are ‘the’ formula one team.

Every driver wants a shot there including now Lewis. And they’re willing to leave somewhere stable with ££££££££ to do so.

He has already built wdc winning cars from nothing.

Like it or not Ferrari is pretty much the epitome of F1.

For him to go there and design a winning car would be legendary.

Aston are not a serious outfit anyway, when stroll has his clown son as a driver.

Quite... when it is taking RB from mid field to multiple WDCs the cries are that they are too fast and too sucessful, but when applied to Hamilton and Ferrari it's a crowning glory.

Like it or not, winning for Ferrari is always seen as the jewel in F1.

If you at the top of your F1 game, the expectation is that Ferrari comes knocking.

I'm not sure Hamilton being there has any relevance (unless Newey and Hamilton have personal connections I'm unaware of), but Ferrari is... well.... Ferrari. It's completely illogical, but most people in F1 seems to aspire to spend at least part of their career there.

I'd argue it's more of an achievement to take Aston to a title than going to Ferrari to do it.

Or getting Lance podiums/race wins.
