13 seconds in 10 laps for Max.

It looked to me that Carlos lost the rear at the hairpin - I wouldn't say it was malicious?

That’s really about as good as you can expect from a sprint race in 2024. The Red Bull in the hands of Verstappen is monstrous. I spotted 3rd - 7th kicking off before the midpoint, wish I’d called it!

Yep surprised by the reaction from the commentary team. That’s simply what you do in F1 if you have a car trying to pass around the outside who isn’t ahead at the apex. It’s for Fred to deal with. He’s sacked Sainz, he will have expected this kind of thing.

ETA: they’re still banging the drum. Crofty twice coming out with some bullst about Sainz using Leclerc to stop the car and make the corner. Nonsense.

Pity Zhou in the best of the pointless positions. No chance of a point tomorrow barring a miracle.

Sainz will regret not shutting the door on Alonso, but it would have compromised his exit all the way onto the back straight.

Leclerc needs to wind his rather thin skinned neck in.

The thing I hate most about this formula is how the tyres actively prevent close racing through excessive wear and loss of performance.

Some days it's really tough being a McLaren fan.

Watched it delayed so I could get up at a decent time and catch qually, what a great little sprint race! That Red Bull is as obscene as Perez is for very different reasons.

They said in coms that Red Bull have stated they can't match Saintz's wages offered by Audi-is that a thing? Damn shame if he doesn't make it to Red Bull.

10s penalty for Alonso from the Sprint, which is meaningless in the circumstances.

https://www.fia.com/sites/default/files/decision-d...

However, he also gets three more points on his licence, making six in the last year, and the stewards are asking the FIA for more guidance on how to apply in-race penalties in future, when a car retires during a Sprint weekend.

The 'chemistry' between Craig and Ted there is excruciating, do they hate each other?

I have to admit, I don't often watch the build up, so I have no idea who Craig is, but if him and Croft ever work together, I think I'll have to smash the TV up.

Rosberg is very entertaining as a commentator.

He’s uncancellable by F1 or FIA, doesn’t need the money, comes in with an IDGAF attitude and no filter. The modern-day James Hunt, more from him please!

Two positive comments about Rosberg commentary in a row! He should screenshot that biggrin

Oh Lewis. When did he last come 18th on merit?

Only 0.831 off MV though, ridiculously close field spread, that lockup cost him about a dozen places! If he’d got through, Perez would have gone out! Literally no-one except MV was safe there.

Very disappointing for Lewis
Positive from Lando and Oscar!

All seems in vain for anyone at the front as Max just blitzes it time and time again! That 13/14 seconds in the sprint shows all you need to know!

Lewis ballsed that up of course but Mercedes need to look at themselves as well, George out yesterday in Q1 and Lewis today. Lewis he was lucky enough to get a chance to mess it up as he could have been caught out by Logan doing a Logan and yellow flags.

Them avoiding talking about the sprint race makes things a bit awkward.

The minimum lap time rule, is leading to the unintended consequence of them all messing around in the pit lane.
