I thought they replaced the metal plate with wood because of the accident that killed Senna?? The metal plate lifting the car off the ground causing it to spear off the track into the wall/barrier.
The plank was brought in to limit ground effect, but nothing to do with Senna's accident. There are various fancy composite plank materials being used, but not jabroc anymore (although still used in other forms of racing) and certainly not "wood".

I don't fancy the idea of titanium on my cars, it might look the bks, but if you developed a fuel leak you could end up with burnt bks, so i'll give that one a miss thanks.
Why would you get burnt bits using titanium? perhaps you are confusing it with magnesium.Titanium is used on aircraft to form firewalls/heatshields as it's much more fire resistant than alloy.
Do i need to be more specific?
Top British hillclimb cars still do, great to watch.

It's one of a few changes they hope to introduce for 2015, with glowing brake discs and vapour trails also on the agenda.
Has it really come to this? Next, NA V10 acoustics will be pumped through track side speaker systems so crowds can, "Aurally identify with the visually stimulating high speed race experience."Daston said:
Or we could just watch the WEC which already has sparks, glowing discs and a great sound track
After watching Le Mans this year I am going to be following the WEC much more closly.
It can't be a coincidence that the WEC is gaining in popularity, more Manufacturers joining - and all without gimmicks. F1 & WRC take note. After watching Le Mans this year I am going to be following the WEC much more closly.
