I personally think that we are entering an Alonso, Vettel era. Unless something screwy happens, I think Lewis and the others will be eating the scraps from the table.

every sport has a GOAT, hard to say it's hamilton with 1 championship in the bag, narrowly getting that championship remember ! he is a fkin good driver, and one hell of an instinctive racer, but I dont think he is the GOAT, he needs to remember to win championships, you have to be consisten, and without a doubt he always does something that leaves you thinking WTF, today under the saftey car almost coming together with vettel !!
F1 has a few drivers with the potential to be great, vettel, hamilton, rosberg, kubica, kobyashi, even button, although I think button is more of a gentleman racer.
proper GOATs are the likes of Vale, Travis Pastrana, Seb Loeb, Shaun White, Tony Hawk, Woods, ALI, etc

Concerning Hakinnen what is so special about him? Alonso is decisivily better than him too.
Not really wanting to get involved but you are kidding right?! He retired double world champion at an early age compared to most of the greats, his choice but for the length of his career he was exceptionally quick, always quicker than his team-mates and for those that want a recognised yard-stick; it wasn't exactly slack out-qualifying Senna by half a second in his debut for McLaren at Estoril in '93. He was the only driver Schumacher was ever genuinely afraid of for his speed and ability. For whatever reason people tend to forget/gloss over how good Hakkinen was because he was around in the same era as Schumacher. I am a fan of both drivers but I wish Hakkinen had stuck around as I'm sure he would have won another championship or two and although Schumacher would have won less, he may have gained more credibility amongst his critics.

Lewis would have to beat everything schumi had done to be classed as the G.O.A.T, and surpass some of senna's old tricks
Not sure that I follow the logic of that.Schumey isn't the GOAT, so how would surpassing his numerical records be related to becoming the GOAT?
Surely he must be one of them? I'm not sure Hamiltion now, could beat Schu when he was at his peak.
