You've misremembered what Hamilton said. He said he would welcome Verstappen as a teammate.
That's what he says, but he knows it will not happen.
Yep.
Rhetoric is easy.

It's not about Lewis's talent. It's abvious that he's in an elite group of drivers that have more talent than most other F1 drivers.

But what's evident is that F1 is currently being held hostage by a dominant Mercedes, by the entire construct that F1 currently is; not by Hamilton's talent.

If the latter was the case, fine. Hamitlon titles and GP wins however are inflated. The driver isn't the deciding factor in F1 for winning titles.

Why do you watch F1 then, you silly little crybaby... it’s always been this way. What are you on about?

As for fearing Max, you’re joking!!! Hamilton went up against Alonso as a newbie and beat him. You can talk about politics all you want but that’s the measure of a man and a driver; Alonso tripped up on his own ego. The better driver won and Alonso has happily acknowledged Hamilton’s talent. But some of you chaps can’t.

It’s genuinely amusing to watch you tie yourself in knots. Let’s be honest, Lewis Hamilton lives rent free inside your head. It’s parhetic and deep down, you know it.

wink

The big wait is on the right car, We can only hope it's the same one as Hamboy's controlling with the buttons on his steering wheel.

Yes, Hamboy is rubbish and it’s all just buttons on a wheel. He beat everyone in lower formulae with the same trick... and in Karting. Incredible!!

Here’s an example of those magic buttons:

Question... do you think Max and all the other drivers have a steering wheel like this? Just curious

The best drive these days demonstrating his total control over his machine in any conditions and environment. Iirc correctly DeltonS (I CBA to wade through his previous posts) said the Merc was easy to drive. That’s why Bottas was a 10th off Lewis’s time... oh wait...
Again iirc Sparta was Max was ‘finding the limits hehe
Neither of them can bring themselves to home Lewis even a modicum of credit, acknowledge his skill could even possibly above the majority of the film. Put anyone in the Merc and they’d be world champion yet he can’t get near enough on Sunday. Neither Bottas or Albon are able to get out of their cars what their team mates can yet Lewis just got lucky. He’s in a team wears as a team they do the best job.
RedBull were that team. Horner threw his toys out the pram when they started losing. Honda have their st together so it’s on the team to give Max a car to compete. DeltonS bhing that Max should have a Merc drive... why should he? Lewis is clearly at the top of his game and improving by all accounts. Certainly not falling off the road in on unforced error, on the warm up lap FFS!!!

This thread is so funny, Lewis is the best driver of his generation, you'd be hard pressed to find any team principle/driver (past or present) who'd argue with that, even Alonso has spoken about this and acknowledged his position.

It's utter nonsense to even suggest he isn't one of the all time greats and the best of his time, and yet the trolls keep trolling how empty does your life have to be to be like that?

I think put simply people just don't like him much.

he is smug, false and not a very likeable person in all honesty.

He has been in by far the best car for a very long time, much like Michael was, yet even though I dislike Schuey, I find myself admiring his achievements more as he seemed more sincere.

I just think a lot of people don't like Lewis at all for the way he is, and that is my take.

I find him very humble. He is happy to congratulate the other drivers when they do a good job, something that is very rare in motorsport. He’s said some very kind words about the younger drivers and was very congratulatory of Le Clercs first win, which is a really big thing given they were the rival team at the time. He will readily admit when he is the reason for a less than perfect performance, where many drivers would just blame the car. He seems to be very much the team player.

He came across as very arrogant when he first got into F1, but that’s hardly unusual, and he has changed a lot since then.

Do I think he looks a bit stupid with his hair styles and fashion? Yes, but no doubt he would think the same of me. Each to their own and all that.

Interview with Tom Kristensen:

“ Rolex keeps him busy, among other commitments such as his occasional stints as F1’s driver steward. The last time he was on duty was Monza, when Lewis Hamilton paid the stewards that visit during the red-flag delay to check on the 10-second stop-go penalty he’d incurred. We’ve got to ask – what did he say? “He knocked on the door,” is all Tom will say with a smile, acknowledging Hamilton’s courtesy. “He understood what happened, he took responsibility.””

How many drivers would have just barged straight in?

You find Schumi sincere after Adelaide '94, Jerez '97, Austria '02 and Hungary '10 when he almost put Barrichello in the wall ?

Not to mention the "phantom" traction control software on the '94 Benetton.

Bingo. Max wouldn’t go anywhere near Lewis. He’d be shown up and it appears he knew as much... as did his dad. If only Jos could have bullied the team like he bullied the grid in Max’s Karting days, maybe Max would have had a chance - but even then, probably not.
