So I believe this video is from a PH member, whilst we have had questionable driving standards at Sunday services I think we can say we've never had anything quite as bad as wheels day at Aldershot on Friday.

https://youtu.be/z4ZE5Z8Ocnk

I'm all for some fun but with cars lining the street and families (some with pushchairs) walking down the road, brains clearly haven't engaged.

What a bunch of tools!

Sadly they are quite stereotypical of the " American Car Show " owners types.

I also can't believe that the show marshals seemed to be encouraging the poor behaviour outside of the track area, which as you say had plenty of people with push chairs with young children.

Not quite sure what you mean by "American Car Show" type as there's plenty of Japanese, British and German metal as well in that clip?

My only point was referring to the high percentage of American muscle cars. Not sure what the event was, as there were a lot of classic fords too,so I'm sure it covered lots of other Marque's too.

But it does seem that the demographic of owners of American muscle cars fall, into the show off type of owners who by their regular repeated actions manage to alienate the vast majority of normal car fans and enthusiasts .

Wheelsday is a hot rod custom car American cars and classics show.

This year was 43rd apparently,I've been going to it on an off since 1980.

The organisers claim not to condone burn outs.

I attended and the organisers clearly didn't condone visitor parking. It was a mess no signs, no direction from those in official high viz vest which led to people double parking in all the side roads.

Five minutes thinking prior to the event could have prevented the parking debacle . As I was walking back to Potter hotel car park I noted at least 1 car had been sideswiped wrecking both doors rear glass rear bumper and tail light assembly.

Admin types Must Try Harder next year.

Much the same as last time then, they provided adequate parking last time in the form of a huge car park however its people that are too lazy to walk from said car park to the show that cause the problem.
Nothing wrong with a little bit of wheel spin but some people do take the piss.

Not too lazy to walk from the official car park, indeed walking from Potters hotel car park was much further. I nor hundreds of others just couldn't find entrance to said official car park. No signs and no direction when asking gate staff.

BIB would beg to differ regarding wheel spinning antics especially given the proximity to pedestrians and double parked cars. It's all good fun until it isn't and then a lengthy wait at Frimley hospital.

And its always the police ruining the fun. Of course. If the OP is going to be moaning about departing venues then this one should be the target. Not some little wheel spin departing a venue on what I believe is private land?

I hadn't seen that one to be fair. Also the aldershot roads are public highways that's Rushmoor road they are exiting onto.

I was talking about wheels day to somebody at work who helps marshal it, he was saying the writing is on the wall for not only the event due to outgrowing the site itself
But Rushmoor arena is earmarked for development after the other side has been developed by Wellesley

Seriously what are you moaning about?

Isn't that a 60mph road... and you are complaining about cars doing speeds of 0-30mph.

If this was so dangerous, exactly how many accidents occurred? I didn't see any in the video.

Really??

Just because an accident didn't happen doesn't mean it is right or safe? All it takes is for one lapse of concentration (think Morgan departure down the road from rushmoor) or lack of skill to hit pedestrians that were clearly present in the video.

And I was actually highlighting that when people get on their high horses about cars leaving a PHSS that we really are a well behaved bunch compared to other events.

They tried to move it to dunsfold when it got to big for rushmoor a few years ago and that turned into a big failure. I think the event has got to big for a small club to run yet to small for a business to run at a more suitable venue.

I always thought blackbushe would be a suitable venue but I'm not sure how much space there is these days as it's been a while since I was last there.

There will always be stupid people, this cannot be avoided. The thing to remember is not to blame the masses for a couple of individuals.

A farmer driving his Hilux down that road at 60mph annoyed with all the people and cars is likely to pose a bigger threat than any of the wheel spinning antics by the departing participants. But people usually don't apply any rational thought to such things and just tar such activities with a general lack of understanding.

At the end of the day, roads and cars are dangerous, period.

Having a little restrained low speed fun should really be seen as and treated as such.
