Not sure how much interest it will be to most on here, but thought I'd post this anyway...

as TVR 'returned to racing' at Le Mans this year some of us got to have our TVRs in the drivers parade.

was great fun and I have some videos (360cam) and a timelapse/hyperlapse of the trip there and back on my youtube channel

http://www.youtube.com/tvrwedgeinald

Hopefully some of you will enjoy seeing them and hearing some revved TVRs.

What organisation is responsible for the invitations regarding the driversparade?

Enjoyed the parade this year, altough it was a long wait, to busy and to much space between some parade participants.

I went to Le Mans for the first time this year, and to be honest didn't really enjoy / rate the drivers parade.

Scrutineering was a lot more fun, you got close to the cars, you saw the drivers being interviewed and the much smaller crowds made it a lot more pleasant. The drivers parade just seemed a long drawn out event involving a lot of rubbish being thrown into the crowd and people have a crazed obsession with grabbing junk at all costs.

This. The damn thing takes too long and the crowd goes mad for cheap tat!

Was my first time in the parade, glad we were well recived and I must admit (as you can tell in my videos) I was doing my best to please the crowds with plenty of revs. Made easier by the noise level my car produces.

I agree re the 'tat' I'm not sure what they were throwing but seemed to be 'cheap promotional material' but one mans tat is another mans gold?

That is my only experience of the 24 hour but have been to the classic before and really enjoyed that.

In my case it was TVR that sent out the invite to join as part of their 'return to LeMans Racing' was a post on facebook that invited TVRCC members to apply for a place, we had to send details of ours cars and they choose from those, I'm not sure how many applied or how many places there were, but I was definitely glad to be offered a place, something not to be turned down IMHO.

Was good to see the new TVR Griffith and meet Les Edgar, as well as see the Rebellion Racing team.

I quite enjoy the driver's parade.

What amazes me are the amount locals who go about their business as if it were any other day. They must surely know that for one afternoon/evening a year, the only reason to be on the streets of Le Mans is to go to the parade, not to the shops, library, etc.

As a fellow 1st timer, I agree and disagree about the parade. I enjoyed it once it got going, as it seemed to start with a car, a 5 minute break then another car but in future years I think it'll be a case of been there, done that, got the (United Autosports) T-shirt.

Did anyone watch from the red grandstand seats? They seemed to be a decent shout.

I was watching from a balcony area near the start of the route, and to be honest, watching the crowd go crazy for random stuff was probably the most entertaining part of the afternoon

Much as I have specific issues with due to logistics, it would make sense to move it back to the early evening like the parade for the Spa 24 hours so more locals can attend after work

Haha agree.

Loads of people go mad for sweets, wristbands and posters/cards - most of this gets binned within a few weeks at best.

I went in to the town to watch the parade. Ended up sitting in a bar drinking all afternoon into the evening when we saw the crowds. Was a good day but did see any of the parade haha
