It's the same people that make the official Superperformance GT40 replica, the Cobra replica, and made the Noble M12/M400.
I hope to get my hands on the demonstrator soon.

Ah that might explain why the side profile reminded me of the Superperformance Daytona Coupe then. I hope to get my hands on the demonstrator soon.

For some unfathomable reason, it's going to be in "Joust Blue"
I thought it was just Phil who has a thing about having all his cars in dark blue. BTW Justin, do you mind me asking why you've chosen this over the Fenix (assuming you're not buying one of each of course) as they seem to be direct competitors?

Not decided until I've driven it, but this is more in the "toy" bracket given the price rather than M400 replacement of the Fenix.J

I take it theses are the people who made the V8 Capris in the '70s.
No. That was a guy called Basil Green in South Africa. He modded mk1 Capri's (and cortina's ETC) and sold them through Ford dealers as approved Ford cars. Much as the Basil Van Rooyen built Chev Firenza 5.0L Z28 powered Can Am and the later Ford Sierra 5.0 V8 XR8's were marketed.vixen1700 said:

Somewhat different companies according to this http://www.perana.com/AboutPerana.aspxJ
This car is a absolute stunner. I've followed the development with great intersest and absolutely love the idea of a bespoke RHD car based around the current Corvette.
When the car was first proposed the price was said to be around £50k but I fear it has drifted a long way North from there.
But the biggest problem of all from my point of view - an expensive 430 bhp sportscar wih no ABS. Especially when the Corvette comes complete with all the toys you'd expect!

Hehe, what's wrong with cadence braking? ABS is a sticking plaster for the inept (IMO).When the car was first proposed the price was said to be around £50k but I fear it has drifted a long way North from there.

It's well known that many ABS stystems can be outbraked by humans by quite some margin.

I'm all for non ABS cars, owning 2 myself, however on the road in a surprise emergency situation an ABS car will give you more control. It's well known that many ABS stystems can be outbraked by humans by quite some margin.
Switch-able ABS is the way forward IMO. I don't know why no one has done it.

I assume because under homologation rules if it's fitted it must be always on.New type approved cars from 2004 have to have ABS as standard - so it is only SVA approved cars that get away without it being fitted. However, at around £1-2m just for configuration, on a run of a few hundred cars it is far too cost prohibitive (for 200 cars it would add £10k+ to the amortised cost), and hence doesn't get fitted.
For even smaller run supercars it gets stupidly costly.
