How did TVR get away with it?

I know TVRs weren't registered the same as 'normal' cars were with CO2 ratings etc, but doubt they were all SVA'd?

ABS type approval gave opt-out for low volume manufacturers. <500 per year is classed as LV, and hence they aren't full type approved.

Switch-able ABS is the way forward IMO. I don't know why no one has done it.
I assume because under homologation rules if it's fitted it must be always on.
This would answer my question smile Thanks

Certainly was available. The 90's Audi Quattro V20 had it switchable. I remember pressing it frantically (switching it off) when sliding down an icy hill! Obviously when I say sliding I mean not braking at all....

Andreas and Jimmy have done a great job with this car.

I thought it had gone a little quiet and glad to see it starting to move

I assumed it become non-switchable when it was mandated as part of type approval in 2004, but have nothing really to back that up.

No diff locks then? I remember driving through deep snow for the first time in the Ur-Quattro. Felt like a god up and down hills, until I came perfectly to a stop at a junction, and then promptly slid down the road camber into the gutter. I realised then that compacted snow was just like ice biggrin

It's being built now. Not sure about LE Mans but will be going up the hill at Goodwood
I do hope it arrives in time for Goodwood, I know it's a close call. JH @ MV is a close friend of mine and has promised me shotgun in this up the hill cool.

and in race cloth

they sound very good too with their V8.
