My battery in my TVR with Ford V6 has gone flat and will not take a charge , well I don't think it will ,my battery charger just keeps pinging fuses !

The charger works on other batteries , I have taken the battery out of the car , it is in good condition and althought the car is not used a lot I keep it charged up with an Accumate ( but obviously not recently ) any ideas ?

Is that visually (which is pointless) or have you actually checked it properly with a hydrometer? Does it have filling caps? Have you taken them off to see if any of the cells have gone black? i.e. knackered....

If the charger is popping fuese, then there's an internal short in the battery. It's fked. Buy a new battery.

If it's blowing fuses it likely has an internal short. Time for a new one.

An internal short unless its a very odd internal short will kill one cell, the other cells are in series with each other so a dead cell will reduce battery voltage etc but won't show up as a dead short.

But if it is down a zero volts its more then likely utterly fooked
