These old V8 W126 still produce approx 285 bhp with excellent, torque - they can produce wheel spin and slides and quick acceleration if you hold 3rd gear, fine old lwb cars.

I agree with the poster who questions the car having a 3-speed auto box. Surely, it must have the 4-speed auto unless 1) The 5 liter engine was taken out of a 450 SLC 5.0, the only car with the aluminum V8 that had a 3-speed or 2) The engine and transmission were sourced from different cars. I figure that the number of 450 SLC 5.0's must be tiny compared to the total number of 500 SE's SEL's SEC's SL's and SLC's, which all had the 4-speed. Cool swap.
