Absolutely not. I genuinely think it's a bit creepy that people would take the time to note down a registration number plate to check a car is really what it says on the tin so to speak.

If you are buying a car, then fair enough but to do check random cars is very strange.

Yes, this is Pistonheads and we do like talking about cars here but but copying number plates to check the authenticity of cars is just a bit....well......wrong. I suppose since forums are public places, they are bound to attract strange folk.

By it making me uneasy, I meant it just "didnt look right" and I couldnt think why other than the paint being a slightly different colour to what I remember. I have seen the car a few times and wondered, then when I seen it yesterday I took a mental note of the plate?, im sorry if this makes me odd?

Personally I wouldnt give a hoot about people running my cars through the DVLA to find out the spec as most of them are exatly what it says on the tin. I got to be honest I didnt expect this thread to go this way, I was happy after the 3rd or 4th Post lol. We are all different though I suppose.
