I know it's a people carrier but has anyone chipped their Ford S-MAX 2.5 T

I'm currently running dreamscience DSCI tune on my other car a Focus ST and it's great.

I know bluefin seem to offer the following for £399

Ford S-Max 2.5 T
2006 onwards
Engine type : Turbocharged Petrol
Engine size : 2522 cm3
Cylinders : 5
Original bhp : 216
Original nm : 320
BHP increase : 49
NM gain : 89
Lb/Ft gain : 66

Has anyone chipped their's ? It's such a big car even 216 bhp it doesn't feel particularly fast.

Any thoughts ?

Is it not the same engine as the ST?

Cool, It's a great car but could handle some more go.

It's the same engine as the ST so has some great tuning potenial.

Bear in mind that the S-Max has much longer gearing than the Focus. We did do a one off 260PS version as a demo for Ford of France but whilst it was quicker it never really felt "sporty" due to the gearing.

Think thats the problem, the mpg is so much better than the focus, I assume because of the high gearing.

Would be nice to try it though, even in standard form I have out dragged so called performance cars.

200bhp, "long gearing" and the best part of 2 tonnes, i rather doubt that

I had a 2.5 S-max that I chipped using Bluefin but I was never that delighted with the improvement and in the end I returned the car to standard to save insurance etc

Although it made the car quicker (I used an accelerometer to check), it didn't really feel any quicker and I preferred the power delivery of the standard tune.

Great car btw - loved mine.

Didn't PH have on of these on their test fleet a year or two back, if so there'll be info on here somewhere.
