While I'm all for lunch breaks etc, I'd be sacked if I went to the supermarket in a works vehicle rather than my own. It ties up the vehicle on unneccessary use when it could be used for crime fighting by Police officers that are available for duty. Given the proximity of their chosen ready meal stop to their place of work, what's wrong with bloody walking?
Obviously your job does not need the rapid response or flexibility that a police officer's job does. If you've left the car at the station while you walk to get food and a job comes in you're no good to anyone. On the other hand, I've seen police officers run out of Subway and into their, sandwich bags in hand, to respond to a high priority job. At that point, lunch is taking a back seat whereas I'm sure you'd be writing to your union rep if you had to miss lunch to deal with work!On the subject of small police cars, I don't think they're all that great for urban use. Given that when you're parking in an emergecy you find the safest and most appropriate spot in a hurry, having a super compact car doesn't really matter. Northumbria Police seem to manage with Astras in the city centre of Newcastle still. That said, the Focii were much, much better.
In my day they had a 2.8 Capri then a XR4x4 in MK no wonder the youth of today have no respect for the law.
Has the genius who bought this ever been to Mton Keynes? We don't have an urban area, it's all n s l, mostly dual carriageways and even the 'city' centre is wide open dual carriageway. The only possible reason is that because Nissan did some Leaf development nearby there are charging points.

The operator gives the stock response of "we're too busy to attend right now, do you want a log reference?".I'm sure their Union are pleased that risk assesments have been done for driving with a hot potato on board and getting ketchup out of upholstery.
I jest of course.
