Is it me or is are the timing mechanisms that look to sit on rails on that dashboards, a couple of iPhone 4s?

I've added the missing but from the press release:

"The BMW 328 is considered the most successful and best-looking sports car of the 1930s," so... "We at BMW thought we'd create the least successful and worst-looking sportscar of the 2010s."

Personally I think it looks bloody fantastic.

Each to their own I suppose, but I love it. Big fan of the ConnectedDrive though, so that's probably got a lot to do with it.

Sweet zombie jesus, what did they do?

Looks like the devilspawn of the original Were Car from Futurama:

Apart from the grille and lights, I like every inch of it.

Whoever designed the front really needs a trip to Specsavers (suppose I should say other opticians are available).
I reckon this one got past the BMW board on a Friday afternoon - the front is just plain Fugly...

Wheels are nice. Throw the rest away. I'd love the original version.

At last, the new BMW design direction we've all been waiting for. Come back Chris, all is forgiven. 328 'the best looking car of the 1930s'? hmmmm. Maybe that's a quote from someone in Germany IN the 1930s.... Or someone who had never been allowed to look at a Bugatti.

its kind of a fun car - but thats spoilt when they say its related to the 1930s 328. How? Where is the similarity in design language? Ok, they are both cars - but beyond that?
If they just said "we let our designers have some fun with the Z4 and CAD tools and they came up with a vaguely retro thingy" then that would be fine. But why let marketing in?
Fail.

We all know it will never end up in production - at least in it's current form. I do like it however. After all, it's just a design exploration for a car show.
