I seriously detest marketing like this:

Why on earth are they showing a smart business woman, dressed in a leather jacket, in the middle of a desert, getting in to a 1930s homage race car? Why not just show a racing driver in vintage overalls getting in? Grinds my gears.
Is it all to do with desire?http://images.pistonheads.com/nimg/23663/12-L.jpg

Two things we can't have?
1 Glamorous Super Model = Bean Pole figure is not for me, I like curves!
2 Exclusive prototype automotive art = Most of us would rather have the original 1930's one?
Unfortunately there seems to be people with a lot of money who live their lives bouncing for one designer product to the next to boost their ego.
Sad I think, but it happens and good luck to them if they can afford it, but advertising works.
Doesn't remind of the 328 at all. I like some of the details- the wheels, windscreen, and leather bonnet straps (even though they're not functional). Those gauges on the dash look a bit like thin cameras.
The door- er, lack of a door, coupled with the insanely high sills, reminds me of the Z1.
Overall, I think they did a better job at capturing the 328's spirit with this:
One Bangle design I wish I could have.

The orginal 328 is elegant, a modern interpretation would imo look similar to a Morgan Aeromax.
This new design is inelegant and awkward. Granted it is bold but instead of producing something jaw droppingly stunning and desirable, it looks a bit...er...st. I've not really seen a proper 'WOW' BMW for a long time.
This is coming from a die hard proper fanboi!
Who remembers the day when ///M stood for something other than ///Marketing.

Love this picture, although it could be the legs :-)
I agree that this pic is particularly well-balanced.The legs' angle counteracts the leather belts' angle.
The car?
Original, certainly.
The wheels are quite good really, but of course the knock-offs wouldn't see production.
The BONNET BELTS are the main interest, to my eyes! Very clever, and aesthetic.
The inside is utterly twisted, but seems incomplte: no gear lever?
The rear is horrid.
But an exciting object even so.
