I reckon it's a happy medium, especially for road use.
Just noticed you say 'The supercharged 5-litre V8 jumps from 503 to 523bhp'
where as ph say 'despite having 542bhp (versus the XKRs 503).'
Just wondered which it was? Sorry to be perdantic, I dont normally go looking for typo's,promise!

I don't mind the colour per se, but the styling mods make the car look pretty ugly. It doesn't matter how much better it is than the standard car if it makes you vomit every time you look out onto your driveway.

They're different cars. I was saying that the XKR-75 (523bhp) would be my choice rather than the XKR-S (542bhp).

Good write up but check the facts, shouldn't the power BHP be the other way around as the xkr's' should be faster, and you get paid to check this stuff lol

I think I see where you mean but I read it as perhaps needing an apostrophe rather than it being the wrong way around i.e. XKR's

Typo. The Renault Twingo GT posted a 1min 30 dead.

Styling you make your own mind up about - the point of articles like this is to cover the objective stuff and not decide if you like the paintwork.

For the record, I think Jaguar have been using too many 'Halfords' bits for a while now. The 'R' models have too much chicken-wire and leftover Sierra Cosworth bonnet vents for my taste (tho nowhere near as dreadful as the Aston Vantage V12!!) so the paintwork is just another step in that direction...

sat in one the other day, and although the alcantara headlining is nice it makes you wonder why they didnt put it on the steering wheel and dash too. Would be a really nice interior then.

No mention of what jag did with the suspension in the write-up either?

Taken one round a track, and it was just a whole different animal to the XKR, I absolutely love this car, the colours choices are perfect and the seat trims are amazing!

I don't like the bodykit and the blue. I don't think it suits the Jaguar image.

Love the colour!

Hate the front!

It surely must be possible to reduce front end lift without resorting to the ugly stick?

Yup. You hear complaints about the DBS vs the DB9, but this bodykit is way OTT. Great car otherwise.

You don't have to buy one lads. Get yourselves a nice, safe, grey RS5 or similar.

I really hate reviews like this.

Aside from a horsepower figure, and some very subjective comments, we have no real discussion about weight, or performance stats.

For a discussion about a car thats being "driven", theres next to no information on how it actually drives in a measured, engineering sense.

I feel like I have to go to another source to get information on the car, Geez, how hard is it go put this into a review? Or will this backpedal to not actually be a review, and just a written version of a soundbyte...?

The only downside i see to Jag's is there all autos' it would be nice if the hot versions had the option of a manual change

Yes, it would. I had a similar objection to the DB9 when it first came out, but Aston resolved that.

Well if ever I could have asked Jaguar to build a car specifically for me, they have done it with this more focused, tweaked XKR-S. I think I'm really going to love it.
Have you placed the order yet? 911 been kicked into touch? smile
