Over-priced gash.

The standard R8 V8 spyder is almost perfect, why mess?

VW controls Porsche & Audi.

VW tells Porsche to send one of its price-skimming experts up to Ingostadt for the day.

The above is the result.
Hmmm, well compared to that Audi the 997 4.0GT3RS looks a positive bargain.

I struggle to see how a carbon-fibre wing is quoted as "weight reduction", when the standard car doesn't have one at all?

Oh, and that wing! Looks like it was nicked off of a 1970s muscle car, which is not a good thing!

Hmmm, definately looks like another car that's suffered from the Halfords treatment, agree with all the other posts the price is insane at £185k Standard car looks better and i doubt is any slower in real life driving. Would rather have the Gallardo spyder anyway or for £185k this

The aero treatment does look a bit tacky, especially for Audi.
But for those who say that at these prices they'd prefer a Lambo, I've always felt that when driving in their cars I'm just waiting for something to break. They use a lot of Audi parts but enough Lambo-ness is still injected to make them thrillingly fault ridden.
Driving cars with the 4 rings can be far more enjoyable because they're much more likely to just work.
So at the end, I'd rather be able to focus on the drive, not on parts flying off down the back road.

Carbon spoiler saves weight because it replaces the electronic pop up one, also if you've got this kinda money to throw at a toy like this ya ain't gonna be bothered about the price!

Indeed, everyone would notice the difference. If you went cruising past in a TT, people might day you were dull and lacked imagination. If you went cruising past in this abomination they'd say you were a bellend.

The standard car does have a spoiler - it lifts up at speed or via a button. They've replaced that mechanism with the wing, hence a weight saving.

Not defending the GT, but must point out that the R8 handles better than the Lambo, and has a nicer interior.

It still doesn't win the "pub" key competition though.

Lamborghini for me every time.

Ahh, thanks; I didn't know the standard car has a pop-up spoiler. I still think the fixed one looks like a tacked-on afterthought. I'd keep the pop-up one, but I don't mind the rest of the car- the wheels are easy to change.

Actually, could anybody with photoshop skills erase the wing and put some Rotiforms on it?

The car only needs a few more grills on it and it would be tops!

rofl

on a serious note; The car doesn't really cut the extra 80k you are spending, does it even have DCT? The only things going for are that the interior does look quite nice and that it's a limited run of 333 cars.

Remember who you are selling to Audi and take a better look at your competition!

Spend a little extra and you could have a 458 Italia, I experienced last weekend and I can confirm it is worth EVERY penny
