where is that one!? looks sublime!! have driven a fair few in scotland and they're awesome. A939 is one of my faves so far driving
I would also really like to know where that is -- just have to fix up the car and would love to go there smile
I can't for the life of me remember biggrin Sorry.
It's the A894 from Durness to Kylesku:

One of my all time favourite roads!

Really like it & evo magazine spoke very highly of it aswell.

Love the fact that its small & agile with a nice road presence,i know its not the best looking car in the world, but if your behind the wheel i bet your having lots of fun!!
Has anyone not been impressed with the car?
I have not read any negatives about it,i know some people were concerned because it didnt have a specific M engine which majority of M cars have had.

I would buy one tommorrow if i had the money, just think the interior is a little ordinary for a 40k car,but i thought the same about the e92 m3 when i drove that, but thought the engine was awesome.

the only thing that gripes me with reviews about this car is they are comparing it to a cayman R. what the hell is with that? 1 car is a mid-engined 2 seater costing £12k/30%(!!!!!!!!!!!!) more than a car which is inherently flawed by better practicality with rear seats and a bigger boot and thus it's front engined. i don't understand the comparison to be honest, both going after totally different markets.

can someone please explain this to me smile

I made the point in my review that its 'agility' is comparable (and quite reminiscent) to a Cayman - beyond that, there's no reason for comparing the two apart from using it as link bait to generate more page views.

The most interesting and relevant comparison in many ways would be against a 2-year old E92 M3 - I'd choose the 1M..

So how is it better than it's bigger brother - apart from being a few inches short, not as glorious an engine, not as well proportioned. £45k will buy a very low mileage E92 M3.

but the 1m coupe will be rarer than an m3 and hopefully hold like the m3 csl as there is only 450 coming in to the uk and its quicker in the real world

The Z4M C is rare, but has depreciated like any other Mondeo or Vectra, unfortunately frown

CSL values might be holding because it's actually really desirable amongst owners who want a really focussed weekend toy.

Quicker in the real world is all relative. The E9X M3 is really bloody quick in the real world, so being really bloody quick + 5% isn't really a selling point that any one would appreciate is it?
You can either break the speed limit and limit point in 4000rpm and 5s, or break the speed limit and limit point in 3000rpm and 4.8s instead hehewink

i'm wondering whether M3 values will hold up, being the only ever V8 M3, and presumably the last ever N/A M car. what you guys reckon? values seem to have held up somewhat over the last few months it seems.

Haha... I say no as well.

There are lots of them about, same with the E46 M3. You can often see one every day out and about.

It doesn't explain why the M3 CSL has remained so valuable while the similar number Z4MC has lost lots of value.

That all said, all M cars have always lost lots of value eventually. The only ones that haven't are the rare/raw CSL, and the rare and interesting Z3MC. The Z4C (non-M) probably ruined it for the Z4MC, as there are actually quite a few Coupes around to lessen the rare/interesting looks of the MC, while with the Z3 there was only one Coupe and it was the M model.

Hmmm

Z4MC can't be a hairdressers car can it? Roof stays up so they can't show off their hair cutting skills hehe
