After years of owning Alfas, I wanted something that didn't rattle, didn't need fixing every year and yes...less soul.

Audi fit the bill. I'm happy with my Audi TT. Comfortable and fast enough. Yes the interior is awesome. The 156 interior is nicer though...

BMW ride quality is crap with run flats !
Er... true, especially on the M Sport versions (like my 320)...
Yeah but as has been argued to death already - the crapness of run flats has got nothing on crapness of the S-Line ride.

And thats where the numbers game falls flat. So the Audi reads a little better on paper, but weighs a tonne, is far less exciting to drive but probably better for dropping the kids off at school, or at the pool.

Mind you, this obsession with numbers at the expense of everything else is typical Audi, talks the talk but cannot walk the walk. Pandering to people who buy cars based on stats and spec sheets rather than sheer seat of your pants petrolhead fun.
Oh go away you pathetic Clarkson parroting imbecile.

That's hardly Audi's in particular. Anything mainstream is not going to compare to the 'sheer seat of your pants petrolhead fun' you can have in something a bit more niche.
