Spare veyron engine: what car
Discussion
Kinda makes me wonder, if we found a barge big and wide enough to fit it into, how well would it stay cool if it was front-mounted? I bet it'd be okay with a decent-sized grille and a radiator that made up most of the front face of the engine bay.
This, of course, is to avoid having to detune it at all

An L322 Range Rover, it was originally engineered to take the BMW V12, so it should squeeze in as that's not a particularly narrow engine bay either. It'd probably notice the 450kg lump over the front axle less than many cars. Gearbox might be tricky though...
I may have seen a L322 with a V12. Mark_Karting said:
Right in the middle, painted like that too!

One bank of a Veyron engine then, minus the turbos and associated pipework.
Erm, in a word. No.Half a Veyron lump, ie. 8 cylinders lopped off the end.
The Veyron lump is essentially 2 banks of 'VR8' configuration engines, the Passat W8 is 2 banks of VR4 configuration engines. IYSWIM.

I could be wrong (see above ), but I think the reality is that there's only one place a Veyron engine can actually fit as it was built, then the car added around it. Unfortunately.
