Easy fit, but would be quite amusing.

Kinda makes me wonder, if we found a barge big and wide enough to fit it into, how well would it stay cool if it was front-mounted? I bet it'd be okay with a decent-sized grille and a radiator that made up most of the front face of the engine bay.

This, of course, is to avoid having to detune it at all biggrin

Mk1 Ford Sierra 5 door base. I would keep the unpainted grille and single door mirror although the 13 inch steels may need an upgrade.......

An L322 Range Rover, it was originally engineered to take the BMW V12, so it should squeeze in as that's not a particularly narrow engine bay either. It'd probably notice the 450kg lump over the front axle less than many cars. Gearbox might be tricky though...
I may have seen a L322 with a V12. whistle

put it in the back instead. tint windows. leave everything else standard.

the most expensive way to have a laugh ever but imagine the Merc SLR/Lambo drivers face when an old Picasso comes ripping past at 180mph...

Heh, I reckon that could be done with a Mk1 Superb, too, as the Passat on which it was based could be had with a W8, and it had a longitudinal lump.

One bank of a Veyron engine then, minus the turbos and associated pipework and radiators wink

Erm, in a word. No.

Half a Veyron lump, ie. 8 cylinders lopped off the end.

The Veyron lump is essentially 2 banks of 'VR8' configuration engines, the Passat W8 is 2 banks of VR4 configuration engines. IYSWIM.

I will have it, on Saturday, this happened,

To my wife's

And have spent the evening trying to salvage enough bits from the broken engine and a waterlogged spare to make 1 working one.

It is indeed. Still, having seen a W8 in a Passat, I can't imagine the same thing doubled in length, with four turbos added, the exhaust and air pipes, intercoolers etc all squeezing in there too.

I could be wrong (see above hehe), but I think the reality is that there's only one place a Veyron engine can actually fit as it was built, then the car added around it. Unfortunately.

Meh, it's nothing special. 4 turbo's to get 1000bhp from 8 litres. Sounds crap too.
