You would not buy a car from Bradford??? What's wrong with Bradford when you have the likes of those lovely modified supercars from the likes of Khan Design.

Oh...hang on a minute. Yep - you're right! Avoid Bradford. no good reason to buy a car from there - at all!

(Currently sitting in an office in Bradford).

If it's a very particular car I'm after, I'll travel anywhere in the UK; as I did from West Wales to Dundee. By road. No airports for me.

I'm happy to do a few hundred miles for a snotter. It gives me the opportunity to catch up with one of my mates and have a laugh on the journey out. If you get the car, you can have a hoon back. If you don't, you can spend the journey home berating the vendor for being a lousy, lying cheating bd with st in his eyes for mis-advertising such a pup.

As an aside, I have actually bought a car from Bradford. It was excellent order, which is more than can be said for Bradford itself.
There was a car on fire on some ground across the road from his house which prompted me to park our car in a quick getaway position.

Quick google streetview of the postcode to get an idea for me
Yep, this is a good idea, and just what I did... the street looked a right dive, but the car sounded really good from the advert, and the guy could sting a bit of a sentence together with only a few text speak references... But the pictures were crap, although they had been taken against a country background... but he said he only had a phone camera... Fair enough. So against my better judgement, I drove 15 miles across Birmingham to Castle Vale...

What a mistake... I walked around the car and straight away knew it was a dog. Loads of rust, just covered over with some aerosol paint... he came to the door as I was looking around it, I swear his knuckles were dragging on the floor hehehehe I just said its not for me and walked away leaving him looking bewildered...

Conversely, I looked at another yesterday. Made the call and a woman answered who gave me a few details about the car, said it was her car and they had owned it a long time, she sounded really nice, polite and well spoken. Looked at the address on google maps and it was a nice area, well kept, large houses... Went to see it and its a really good car, well kept, all the old bills, clean inside and out... so I bought it.

When I look back at all the cars (many!!) I have ever bought privately, they have always been from the nice areas in a town, I have never found a good car from a run down area...

But guys, there must be some nice areas in Bradford!!!

I I think he means would the location put you off, not the distance.

I.e. would you buy a car from a run down council estate?

Yes, places like Bradford, parts of North London / Hounslow / Croydon, Tower Hamlets and so on I would avoid.
Which parts of North London out of interest?

By all means generalise on a city, but be careful with postcodes as well :-)

Bradford is a great example.

BD1, etc, I'd avoid.
But BD17 (Baildon) is affluent and getting expensive although only 4 miles north of Bradford.
BD23 is Skipton, etc, nice dales town

Wot he said ^^^ smile

Guessing I'm in a minority here but I've been to see 3 cars in Bradford, two of which we bought. If the price is right and it feels good what's the problem?
