Hi all
I have been to view a possible replacement daily today. A Mazda6 diesel. It was a private sale.

When I arrived, the car would not start. It just clicked, indicating to my logic the battery was flat. The guy said it had been stood for one week.

It went easily with a jump pack and 3 miles into the drive I switched the car off and it started again no worries!

So, from that limited info, Duff battery? Or possibly more to it?

I wouldn't expect a battery to go flat after just a week of standing unless (a) the battery is knackered or (b) the alternator hasn't been charging it properly or (c) there's something draining the battery....

...or it's been repeatedly started and stopped by prospective buyers and had the doors opened endlessly so the battery has become drained.

There must be thousands of these for sale, why bother with one that won't start for a test drive?
Its a reflection of how the car has been looked after, walk away.

Isn't it this engine that has had significant "issues" with its fuel pump.
