A couple of questions - buying and selling cars for profit

All valid points I'm sure. That would mean only pulling the trigger if the price was superb in the first place. So waiting for the right car could take some time I guess.
The sort of thing I had in mind would be say a mint 968, 964 RS, that sort of enthusiast vehicle. Not a Bentley, where the buyer would demand a palace and lapdance to entertain a sale.
It is going to be very rare that someone selling a mint 968 etc is going to sell it for below market value to allow you to make anywhere near the sort of margin you will need to.The sort of thing I had in mind would be say a mint 968, 964 RS, that sort of enthusiast vehicle. If anything, most enthusiasts over value their vars, not undervalue them, so not only have you to get them to understand a realistic retail price for their car, you will then have to convince them to sell it at several thousand pounds less than that which is hard.
- I have been buying and selling cars for a while now, if you go to auction you will be lucky to come out with profit (lots of cars have mechanical faults).
- selling off your driveway is not easy, people take the pi** by offering low amounts/ want to part exchange something that a dealer would offer £2000, but they want £3500.
- if you don't know what your doing you WILL FAIL, most people I speak to don't really know what they are doing (just think they do)
- you need to have excellent knowledge of how much a car is worth, and not by going on book price!
