This is just a shame. Another Jag (well sort of) falls for this hill billy shame.

There should be a law against it.

It is a Rapport Forté Estate.

Thats pretty cool. I mean, obviously the headlights would need to be replaced with rockets and machine guns but i think thats actually a pretty neat looking wedge of bread.

Dont blame the Banger Racers, surely if it is rare or significant the classic fraternity should have saved it before they got near it, Banger Racers dont care that much as a rule.

Too right, I imagine it could be turned into a great James Bond Q car. I don't think it's that ugly either, similar ish to a Volvo 480

Desirability based surely - looked awful, so nobody cared enough to save it. Also, going by the pic of it as a banger racer, it looks like it happened in the 90s.

I guess nobody wanted to.

If it were desirable then it would have had a decent price tag on it, do you honestly think that banger racers would spend loads of money just to smash up a rare car?

Nope they buy cheap st and smash it up, I guess nobody wanted to take it on.

Perfect example was the Jag shooting brake I saw at a classic show, it was rottener than a very rotten thing! No doubt it was priced according to it's rarity and hence hasn't been bangered.

In 2009 it was auctioned by Brightwells for £9900 inc premium

Chassis no. 2K-2893BW
Engine no. 37610

DVLA/HPI still have it listed as: DAIMLER 5.3 DOUBLE SIX AUTO
Date of Liability: 01 05 1990 / Vehicle Status: Unlicensed

So there is no scrap marker and therefore not part of the Scrappage Scheme.
Registration 2888 AP has also therefore not been placed on retention either...

But. Was there really just the one? Was there a development rolling shell tucked somewhere, missing its front end??

The photo looks like a scan from a film print, sometime in the late nineties?

The front wing on the banger looks less pointy than the one on the other car?

[quote] i got the car from wisbech, the man i got it from said it came from peterborugh, he had 2 one with no doors and tailgate and both had no running gear or wings, so i had to buy a doner jag

Thought as much.

Looks like it's all a wind-up...

I agree with the OP, we should ban people from doing what they like with things they bought with their own money.

Wasn't there a long thread about the Jag?

If people want to save classics it's a case of putting your money where your mouth is.

Here it is:

Its funny how people are so quick to tell others what to do with their stuff and yet the NP&E forum is full of rants when the government does the same thing.

Been reading scare stories in classic mags?
