If it can't go underwater and fire sea to air torpedos, whilst droping depth charges and at the same time making Barbara Bach moist, then it is Sir, quite frankly rubbish.
Well Emeye, it may well finish the race under the water and it will hopefully have a few toys. I'm planning a water rocket as the Sea to Air missile that fires from the rear window.Depth charges will probably be replaced with water balloons thrown at the other rafts and I'm fitting the guns to the bonnet on Saturday.
As for Barbara Bach, sadly she's unavailable but my female co-pilot will be dressing up as "Agent XXX" and I've guaranteed her that I'll get her wet within seconds
Top work Andrew. Keep us updated. I'll cross post it to SELOC if no-one has done so already.

It's given me an idea. Instead of just messing about with this single vessel, what about a range of high performance Floti, ranging from a £60K nimble offshore raft to a 4 seater luxury raft at double the price. I know we have little experience in this, but if we release all 5 prototypes next week it's bound to cause a stir.
I have researched the idea heavily down the pub and it is a definite winner.
Ok the idea might be silly, but the concept Flotus isn't commercial so we have to change our position totally whatever we do.

The original was actually built by a company called Perry Submarine Builders of West Palm Beach. Florida.
My old company used to buy manned submersibles from them for operation in the oil and gas industry and when I was over doing the test dives on one of them one of the original "Lotus" subs was there getting finished off. We did offer to take it for a test dive but they seemed strangely reticent. Can't imagine why?
It was based on the Sharkhunter technology which was a free flooding two man sub that we always thought looked a bit like one of those Messerschmitt bubble cars. I did get a go in one of those and they were good fun.

I like the sense of fun, especially where water is concerned, lets hope it doesn't turn into a submarine but should be a laugh any way!
And for all those glib Lotus haters of the original, you have no idea how brilliant the original is or how well it's put together because sadly you'll never see past your own BS Riggers.

I thought the one in the movie was an R/C model for the underwater shots? Did they actually have a working submersible Esprit? My old company used to buy manned submersibles from them for operation in the oil and gas industry and when I was over doing the test dives on one of them one of the original "Lotus" subs was there getting finished off.
