Didn't the Monaro have to do the same, but they allowed a dealer fit "sports" exhaust which was fitted to practically all the cars?
For the UK only, the Monaro had extra silencers in the system, for poxy UK(EU) noise regs. mad

How much after UK shipping and taxes though? Possibly more expensive dive than UK list.

That is a very good price for that spec car, however as others have mentioned, not making them RHD will mean they will only sell about 5, shame really.
Yes a shame people don't prefer their cars as they were originally designed. RHD factory conversions are nothing more than bodge jobs anyway IMO.

re: lhd on UK roads, it's a non issue assuming you drive properly (or use an overtaking mirror if you feel the need) and are able to articulate your body to reach over for tolls etc....

Before leaping in with both feet, what is the dealer set-up? Apart from one or two enthusiast outlets (see the Monaro forum), most Vauxhall and Chevy dealers are f*****g useless when it comes to being set up to deal with these cars. Even with the 4th gen the servicing was massively overpriced for a pushrod V8 and the parts were far more expennsive than you could import your own for. I think most Monaro/VXR8 dealers were a waste of space.

Also worth bearing in mind that insurers will now probably give this car a high Group 20 rating instead of a "limited numbers" import.

Regrettably, it is often the case that people lacking RWD respect end up stuffing this sort of car as has been shown to some degree with Mustangs and inevitably the sensible drivers end up paying for the morons.

Shouldn't have done that as I'm sure I clicked EDIT. Hmmm, maybe I missed! Anyway, I've edited it all to make your post look silly. wink

As for the poster above, it's CHEVY not Chevvy rolleyes
I hope they insist on a muscle car heritage test before allowing people to buy these. wink

Very true. Most, so-called 'authorised' Monaro specialists are useless, with a few exceptions. I used Vauxhall for the first couple of services, but when booking in, and the receptionist keeps calling your car a Movano/Morano/Camaro/whatever, you know it's not good! hehe

If I actually had a Camaro, I'd be doing what I do now, and trust it to an independant and reliable American car specialist. It's miles cheaper too smile

The ZL1 is going to priced under $47k and it'll hit 60 in under 4 secs.

If enough of you put down deposits for the SS, maybe they'll take orders for the ZL1 later on down the line. Sub £45k RRP would be nice too!

Had one as a hire car in the US last year, was pleasently surprised as handleed fairly well and the gearbox was quite good for a manual/auto US built car. Only downsiade, boot is proper poo, couldn't get my suitcase through the opening and V6 struggled to brake traction in the dry.

Should have hired a Mustang then - bigger boot, same power, much lighter - and why exactly would you want to break traction in the dry? wink

IT's really not that problematic. People try to make out sitting a couple of feet further across is a huge issue but it isn't.
Usually those people that haven't driven LHD.
I think he might have though....

The only fly in the ointment is that there’s no right-hand drive. But when it looks this good, do you really care?
Sadly the answer for me is "yes". I've tried the whole "steering wheel on the wrong side" thing (in fact I currently own a LHD car) and I can't live with it.

Definitely going to be getting one for my next car but i'd actually rather have a US Import than an official European Spec one, the US Import ones look much nicer from the rear.

Here's hoping Ford do the right thing and bring the next Mustang to the UK...in RHD form.

Budget (rent-a-car) had a 'deal' in May 2011 (closed now I think) meaning I was able to rent a Camaro in Ohio at half the rental price... there was me thinking I'd be getting a tame V6, delighted when it turned out to be the V8 SS version... looked absolutely awesome in White... nice rumble... visibility is a bit of a problem... but over the two weeks I grew to really enjoy driving it...
