For the record I'm not pro or anti cycling, I just like to stir the pot!
For the record, you're not very good at it though.

Surely the engine (cyclist) needs to breathe? wink
They've not been through an emissions test, so they'd be charged based on engine size. Not great for fattys.

I'm sure it has been on before.
Most people were wondering what sparked it in the minutes before the punch.

I have a feeling a kick at the car would be likely.
This is Ph, my moneys on the cyclist throwing an empty red bull can at the car.

I have yet to see evidence of your spurious claims.

Tapped? Yeah right! He was lucky only to get tapped back being as (sadly) the driver's punch didn't connect properly.

Even if bikes where taxed, as the CO2 emissions are 0g/ km it would be free anyway wink

Yes, but it would still be under the 100g /km co2 threshold for free road tax nerd

Summary.
Cyclist tried to show off in front of his lycra clad buddies. Cyclist failed. Cyclist got punched in the face. I laughed.

I'm pretty sure the cyclist wont be so brave before 'tapping' another car.

Loving how many people are jumping in on this with comments along the lines of 'he probably deserved it etc etc'. In what world can anyone here justify getting out of a car and lamping someone? Even if he'd kicked seven shades out of the car, does this really warrant assault on the part of the driver. Yes, I know everyone on Pistonheads is 15st and 6ft tall with a goatee. Driver should be found and locked up, no question.

Just to add, if you read the description you'll see that these guys were on a training run for a charity ride, not your usual Lycra warriors.

He barely got hit! My nan could serve a better punch than that? He doesn't deserve to be locked up, that would just be so pointless?!

It's not so much the result but the intent that shocks me.

You're right though, don't lock him up - 100 hours community service would be better. Should cost the state less and will give him a bit of time to think about getting his anger into check.

If a human exhales approx 1kg of CO2 in an average day, couldn't a very slow/unfit cyclist going up a steep hill exceed 100g/km?

Read the thread again, no one has said the cyclist deserved it, the violent attack by the car driver was over-the-top, no question. I'd just like to see what the cyclist did to enrage the car driver to the point of getting out of his car and assaulting him.

Or do you think that the guy was just looking for an innocent cyclist to attack?

Actually you must be right because it was for charityrolleyes
