Renault Megane GT (TCe 180/dCi 160)...any owners/views here?

Hi there, I have been looking at the Megane GT (not the GT Line pack) and wondering if anyone on PH land has one or has driven one and what their views are. This is more for the Mrs and I appreciate it is not a proper RenaultSport, even though it is claimed that the suspension has been set up by RS.

Both petrol and diesel engines are turbo'ed and have more torque than the Clio 200 for example, albeit not as fast to 62mph.

So are these decent or good or bad "warm" hatches and are there any serious let downs? Or should I just stop being silly and spend more for something more German or Czech (VRS for example)? My guess is that the VRS is quicker but does the Renault GT handle better and which is the better drivers car? Ta.

I would save up the extra couple of grand and just get the megane RS imo

The Mrs doesn't want something that hardcore to drive and prefers the diesel for a bit of economy/resale.
