Hi All,

Just after some thoughts/advice really,

I have a large collection of motor magazines from the early 1980's to the late 90's which I'm looking to sell on. They include the following,

Autocar - mid to late 80's
Car - again mid to late 80's
VW Motoring / VW-Audi Car - late 80's
Evo - Issue 2 onwards, probably 30-40 issues in total, maybe more.

Has anyone any thoughts on the best way to approach selling this little lot ?

Cheers, Rob.

Take 'em to the tip. I put issues 1-60 of Top Gear magazine on ebay and got 99p. Not worth the hassle

I've got pretty much every Car since '94 going (think there's only 3 missing)... offered them on a few forums but zero takers, guess there's no interest - and that's giving them away.

80s stuff might be easier to shift. I've thought about trying ebay to get rid of mine but suspect they'll end up at the tip. Shame really, there's some good stuff in there but I need the room back.

For the last six months I've been selling loads of car magazines on ebay. No one buys job lots so sell them separately like I did. Starting price for each was £2, with £2 postage/packaging. All sold, most for 3-5 pounds, odd issue was a tenner. Made just under a grand so don't chuck your magazines away. Takes a bit of time but its not that much hassle to sell them.

I didn't think it worth starting a new thread to ask if the below is worth any more than chucking in the recycling?

I'm guessing not?

Thanks

I have got literally thousands of car mags neatly stored in the garage.

Autocar, Motor, Motoring News, Autosport, MotorSport, every issue of Classic & Sportscar, Top Gear, Evo, Octane etc as well as many long gone publications.

All, with the exception of my complete set of Grand Prix International, worth sod all.

Utterly useless now however I can't bring myself to throw them away which is what swmbo says I must do.

Best thing to do is give them to your local Doctor and Dentist waiting rooms, share them out so at least some extra people get the benefit of your collection .

Or even the local tyre shops so people don't have to read an oily 2 years out of date copy of tyre retailers monthly!

I have 2 stacks of Motorsport News, previously Motoring News starting from 1983.

Total of about 12 feet high.

Really should start recycling them.

Thanks for the replies.

I just sent the pic to a mate and he said to bin them.

Anybody in SW London want them before they go to the dump?

I was going to suggest this.

I've got well over 1000 going back to 1965, all bought by myself new, Car and Motorbike mags, Motor Sport etc, daft I know, but I'll never part with them.

I have boxes and boxes of various mags from 1983-to present day. Every now and then , i have a look through a few but i have been thinking about binning most and just keeeping one from each year ( more for the data on models of the time).

Some i have might be worth a few quid ( i have the first edition of Top Gear with the poster as well) but suspect most are not worth anything but to a collector/hoarder.

Ps- from that picture of youR mags, i know i have that What Car? cars of the year edt from 1991 and also the other copy (whyve you got 2 the same??) from 91 about the Polo G40! .

I also have the first Max Power mag from 1993 with Vicki Butler-henderson in it!! ( I know isnt that amazing!!)
