I injected some waxoyle into the sills of my Corolla snotter the other month... Now every time now I get in the car, I am transported back 30 years to when I had A lancia Monte-Carlo which I applied liberal amounts of the stuff...

When I had an Elise, the smell inside took me back to when I used to work close to an upholstery company... it was the glue smell...

I was passenger in an old Starlet the other day where the carpets were wet... the musty smell took me back to a Mini I had 40 years ago...

What smells remind you of which cars?

Smell of fear in a classic Mini, in the crawler lane on the M25 in torrential rain, being overtaken by... everything.

I don't think the owner had sorted the 'wet distributor issues'

The smell of most shoe shops - the interior of an Audi.

Currently, the smell of McDonalds reminds me of my Giulietta, principally because there's about 7 days (not consecutive!) of sausage and egg wrappers in the pax footwell (company car).

My Impreza also had a distinct smell I noticed in a few places - can't remember them though.

The VX just smells of a petrol station!

Had two mk3 Preludes ten years apart, as soon as i opened door of the second one it smelt exactly the same as the first. Cant dedcribe the smell but it just smelt like a Prelude.

Maybe the electro luminescent dash gives off some weird ass fumes?

Oh and my new 520 smells exactly like my e60 when that was new but thats probably just a general new car and toxic glue smell...mmm carcinogenic loveliness!

Late 90's Ford smell! The brothers '98 Escort had it, my '01 Fiesta has it but the '02 Mondeo doesn't. I'm putting this down to different assembly methods/materials employed in production tongue out

Classics always have a fantastic smell of old vinyl/leather/oil/waxoyl/mustiness. Takes me straight back to my dad's Sunbeam Imp Sport cloud9

Saab 900 classics always smell the same - leather (if present) and "Saab". Don't know what it is, they all smell like it though!

MX-5 - damp rolleyes

Saab 9-5 - wax crayons! Due to the glue they used apparently!

I think it is the mould release agent on the plastic parts. I know what you mean though, the 1980s ones had a similar smell.

The smell of sick in a 1980 1.6L Ford Cortina!

My dad had one new as a company car, basic spec, plastic seats...

My little brother always puked in it, when he puked..my sister puked, followed closely by my throat doing the fandango &...puking!

That car stank.. frown
