Heading into work this morning I followed a car all dressed up in drag. I'm pretty sure it was a new Aston as I followed it for about 4-5 miles.

When we stopped waiting for some little old lady to fanny about I may have obtained a photograph of the rear of said car (yes I know it's illegal before anyone starts).

Question is, does anywhere buy spy shots these days or are they pretty worthless?

One of my friends lives near coventry and took some pictures of a disguised Jag XJ a long time before offical shots had been released. He sold the pics to autocar magazine for a few hundred pounds and got his name creditted as the photographer. So worth sending the car magazines an email and asking, you never know.

Why disguise it though? All new Astons look so similar to anyone without a beard that it would probably go unnoticed otherwise.

Completely, the episode of top gear where May was complaining about them being tested at the ring hammered that point home, weren't they all the same car but in different colours?!
Sack the designer, oh they already did by the looks of it biggrin

It isn't the most conspicuous stealth car though. It sticks out like a sore thumb. Get on the hunt for another stealh motor OP smile

Absolutely, if they had sprayed it grey/silver nobody would have paid it the slightest attention - just another DB9/V8V/DBS/Vanquish!

Saw an 80s V8 Aston on the Strand a couple of days ago - now that was a head turner!

They're hoping to fool people into thinking it's going to look different! biggrin

I live not too far from Millbrook, and have seen a few cars to be on the way to or from testing. Favourite was the then brand new Rolls phantom, parked at the local Tesco, LHD German plates, no wheel trims. Inside were 2 x Hi Viz jackets, and a clip board that appeared to full of circuit times !

More mundanely the pre-launch Mini & Micra convertibles, and more credible the odd Noble.

Haven't resorted to lying in the bushes to see if there is anything more exotic...
