Certainly a better option than the Corvette at Hertz in the US.
Depends on the environment. The Evora is probably more suited to Europe whilst the Vette is more suites to the USA.
I concur. Having rented one of those Hertz Corvettes I can say that I have never had quite so much fun driving in the US - and they are ludicrously quick! I like the Evora but I wouldn't say it's a better car for the 'States.

Hertz are certainly stepping things up a bit. I had a 500 Abarth from them recently and it was quite a hoot and only cost about £80 a day, about the same as a bloody Kia Cee'd. Bit of a no-brainer, if you don't need the space.

How did you manage to wangle that one? Whenever I see a better car that I woudl rather hire the jobsworth's tend to say that I have the car I've been given due to it being pre-ordered by Head office. so I almost always end up with a Corsa when the websie said fiesta or other more preferable car. frown

Booked it specifically, it's not on a 'x or equivalent' thing where they show you a VW and give you a Kia.

Well I am going to explore that option in the future. Though every time I've booked online it is a "X or Equivalent" or nothing.

I wouldn't be pleased for example to have an Evora or equivalent and then be given an Audi TT TDi

We've been hiring them out of Stansted for over a year.......

Lotus Evora hire

Looks like there might have to be a price "re-alignment" though.

Tried to book at a couple of locations and no luck on availability. Has anyone actually found available dates online?

Website also says it's a 2 seater only, not a 2+2. Wasn't the 2+2 only an option?

Looks pretty tricky to book at Heathrow but I might give it a go for a few days for a laugh, best sound good in the Heathrow tunnels mind.
If you have it for a few days, don't ponce about in London in it, take it to some proper roads!

I've just spoken with Hertz, booking and paying with an Am-Ex reduces it to a daily rate of £186.34...there is howevever a £3k excess on the car. Potentially a cheap track day on Stelvio, but with easily £100 of fuel, £150 of flights, food and drinks and of course car rental you're looking at realstically a £500 day out.

You could buy a tatty impreza and play in wales for a few weekends and then sell it afterwards if it's an escape from the diesel company car you are after!
"£186.34" per day - that is indeed very good value for money.

Do we know how many miles per day are included? 100?

Cheers.

First weekend of Novemeber in Madrid they have one, but in fact it depended by which route I checked out availability on their site. Pick the group and it said they were sold out, look at all and there it was.

Don't forget Avis will hire you a Porsche at Stuttgart airport.

They also rent out the Golf Plus TDi, apparently that's a good hire car to take to the 'Ring. Not that I'd know of course, because I'd never ever dream of being so silly as to take a hire car there, just to see what it looked like.....

Can't see any availability at all in Germany. Maybe it isn't loaded into their systems properly yet?

Is it just an Apocryphal story that in the late 60's Hertz had a fleet Shelby Mustangs that were often hired stickered up and raced for the week end and returned on Monday slightly tired ?
