I have no doubt that they'll fix it, but it'll cost Mr A a small fortune.
Just as well he appears to have quite a large fortune. 70 million which makes him the 968th richest person in the country according to the Sunday Times rich list.http://goo.gl/j7l0u
I meet him down at Goodwood a few years ago,top guy answered everyone's questions about the car and let one of the marshals drive the F1 around the track. So hope he recovers soon and the car is repaired

He might wanna think again before rebuilding it again. This is looking like some bad Ju-ju
On the bad Ju-Ju theme, I was thinking he should avoid driving it in , 2022, 2033, 2044......It seems that years that have the same numbers at the end spell trouble for Mr A. Crashed in 99 and then again in 11
As posted earlier, let's hope that the boys at McLaren can get it sorted for him

Having just recorded the best lap time on topgear hasn't helped the media frenzy about this unfortunate accident.
I was actually thinking that his Top Gear result was a good thing as it prevents people from suggesting that he doesn't know how to drive. That's typically the argument that is made anytime a supercar ends up in this situation, and clearly Rowan knows how to turn the wheel.>8^)

I wonder if any other 'production' F1 has higher mileage than Rowan's?
Think he said (on TG) he had done 37,000 miles in it so far?!
Can't be many other ones around with that sort of distance under their wheels?!
I think it's next impending 'service' might be it's most expensive to date!!
Anyway, a true petrol head, hope he makes a quick recovery.

I don't get why its such an achievement to do 37,000 miles in one of the most thoroughly engineered cars ever made, lend me one and I will bang that many miles out in a year ! we had a Rover 114D (Metro, none turbo diesel) for the kids to drive round the field that had done 120,000 miles in six years, my respect and sympathies go to the poor sod that did 20,000 miles a year in that !
I would imagine so, especially in a side impact. It seems to do pretty well in a crash test anyway. The carbon monocoque isn't affected in the slightest.

You can see there that although the front end completely crumpled, the visible section of dashboard which indicates the location of the monocoque wasn't deformed at all.

I thought Flemke had done a bit more than that, although I may be mistaken.Think he said (on TG) he had done 37,000 miles in it so far?!

Oh god the second pic is terrible!
The rear off side structure looks badly damaged and I thought that was part of the main tub. I can't really see how that can be repaired unless there are sections that bolt on? I bow to those who know and prey it can be fixed!
Not one of my favourites due to the colour choice but if it can be fixed, it must be done.

Can I be the first to suggest it'll T-Cut out?
No. I've already read that one about nine million times on Pistonheads and it has never been even slightly funny. You weren't the first and you almost certainly won't be the last, I think this 'joke' will be reused at least another nine million times.
Why don't the mods add 'T-Cut' to the swear filter?
