7 speed manual?

Really?
Apparently it's a "manualised" auto.

Also all aluminium and longer wheelbase.

So you don't get an H-pattern box on a 911 any more?
Yes but it's just an HH pattern really.

Does look good imo

Very elegant, very corporate

Pick of all the watercooled 911s so far imo

I like it, a nice iteration of the 997. The clock in the interior still doesn't look right to me and the car will still never look right as a Cabriolet but overall the front and rear changes make it look very pleasing - somehow smoother than the 997.

The front is hideous by the silly DRLs with a hint of Renault where the bodywork doesn't flow well but is all unconnected and like it's got woodworm.

Much prefer the 997 inside and out.
Completely disagree.

I think the front has more in common with the Audi R8 than anything from Renault.

You can put that down to physics and the laws behind air flow and cooling.

Not bad and a subtly improved shape of glasshouse compared with Lagaay's 996, but my God, I wish Porsche could just market it as a 991 and be done with it. For years now we've had a confusion of Carrera (but not Carrera GT nor 356 Carrera, 906 Carrera, 924 Carrera etc), 964/993/996/997, now 991 and somehow still, 911. What other car has three names?
Much the same as any other car brand really,

991 (internal code) 911 (range) carrera (model)

e90 (internal code) 3 series (range) 335d (model)

7 speed manual? Some kind of 6 speed afair with a dog leg 7th?
Reverse is to the far left and up, 7th is far right and up so that's 5 different 'columns'.

I expect it will simply be an extra effort to push to the far right as 7th is a cruising gear and not needed in a hurry, similar to reverse on a BMW.

I didn't literally mean it looks like a Renault but the red bodywork doesn't surround the light, in the same way that Renault have done, and it just looks plain wrong in my eyes.

You can do pretty much any shape at the front you want in terms of drag. Cooling is the main issue.

Ah well it's fate is sealed for me ....I have a letter of intent in for a new S depending on what it looked like.
Not liking the front indicators and not sure about the rectangular rear spoiler.
main thing for me tough is the interior...just too much like the panamera and cayenne, 997 interpretation of the classic 911 interior was spot on.

Roll on my default choice which will be a 997 PDK Turbo .....cant wait

Looks great i think, other than the interior is a bit "chintzy"
looking forward to the new GTs.

Looks bigger than the 997 - and as someone said "corporate".

The side mirrors look like an afterthought...and the rest looks more like a midlife update to an existing model, more than a whole new car.

Maybe it will look different in real life, is my only hope.

Not keen on the shape of the indicator/DRL unit and the way it's integrated into the rest of the front end. Otherwise, it's alright. smile

Don't like what they've done with the DRLs, don't like the spoiler, and that centre console is horrid, the rest of it is nice though.

Love the new rear lights.
