What are the dimensions? It looks massively long to me.

Love the rear straight on, but I can't help but think that it looks a little too mid engined in profile. This obviously reflects the chassis work done on the 991.

Sorry but, even as someone who can tell the difference between a c2/c2s/c4/c4s/turbo/gt3/gt2 from a mile away and who gets annoyed at people who say all 911s look the same, that front end is IDENTICAL to the 997 mk2, it's just 5% wider. I like the rest though.

7 speed manual?

Really?
Apparently it's a "manualised" auto.
A what?

(is the whoosh parrot heading my way?)
It had been reported that the new 7 speed manual was the PDK gearbox without the PDK. (whether makes sense I'm not sure)

Not the biggest fan of the interior, like the rest however!
Surely i'm not the only one that can see the subtle changes Porsche introduce with each stage of the 911 (styling wise) I think they're doing a beautiful job with it, and don't think "They all look the same" at all.

That sounds wrong. PDK must be specifically designed as a dual cluthc gearbox. I can't see how that would adapt to single clutch easily. Would a PDK box really be designed with a 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 pattern? When the last M5 came out, BMW didn't offer a manual, because the SMG 7 speed box was designed in a way that would have meant a bizarre manual shift pattern of something like 4-3-1-5-6-2-7 (jus tfor illustration).

Side by side I think they will look very different.

The new manual is a proper manual, they wanted to move the rear wheels further back and did this buy designing a pdk gearbox to fit, however they still wanted a manual so they just did a manual version of the same box and just decided not to bother blocking off any of the seven speeds.

I think it's the perfect way to evolve the 997, my only tiny complaint is the rear spoiler, as the edges interfere with the sleek lines of the car.
Pretty cool though......... Can't wait for the GT cars smile

Going to miss the current 'simple' interior. New one looks to 'executive'/'corporate'/'luxury bargish'. Who'd have thought it - the current old fashioned interior was just starting to have it's time again - almost Elise like in it's simplicity and just plain different compared with new stuff.

I can't imagine the rear spoiler looking very nice in the raised position.

Otherwise, it's pretty much as expected (I'm not much of a 911 fan so my opinion isn't really worth anything anyway).

I'm not sure about this??

Front and side I like, still very 911. The back looks like the love child of a Panamera/Vantage. I prefer the more huntched traditional 911 look.

It's not bad and I'm sure it will grow on me but If I had the money I'd still go and buy a 997 after looking at them pictures!!!

What I DONT like is this carelessness by yet another manufacturer with their pictures. Shame on you with all these leaks wink

You cant realise a manual version of PDK gearbox as someone said earlier. Its just a normal manual box with 7th gear next to the 5th.

Besides that, I'll wait with a final judgement until I see it in metal. The rear end looks quite good, probably the biggest difference to the previous model. You can see in the picture that it is lower and a bit wider.

I think the reveal of the Turbo and GT models will produce the "Wow"-effect that everybody is waiting for wink
