Are they both wide body S's?

Or one of each?

Looks beefy in silver and those wheels, I like the looks, but would be good if porsche took a gamble and released a more aesthetically pleasing looking car that stirs the soul..

I hope they've spent the time fixing the engine so it's reliable (RMS etc) because for sure they've spent no time on the design.

Those issues were sorted out with the gen2 997 and the clean sheet DFI engines.

It's a safe evolution but I can't see the styling being enough to woe back people who are currently driving Astons/R8s/GTRs.

Totally agree. Porsche need to employ a few designers, they don't design anything. This car just looks like they've just stretched the old one 5%, and spent a year on the piss.

Bet it drives like ste too, might as well buy a beetle.

It's a 911...

BUT

A pretty weak effort, the front splitter is a fashion accesory that will date quickly, and the wheels look ridiculously large. I'm sure it's a marvellous machine, but it doesn't give me the horn one little bit.

Would it be possible to have your 911 rump stamped with 'PORSCHE' to look like it did on the old 968?

I like it. Looks better than the 997 & 996.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned this looks more like a stretched Cayman than a 911, which is a good thing.

The super wide angle on the interior shot really make it look wierd, I'll definitely wait until I see one in the flesh before deciding if I like the interior.

I really like the new interior, as the 997 one just isn't that exciting for a £65K+ car regardless of how well put together and functional it is(and I say that as an owner of one). Such a shame they've not completely dropped those stupid buttons on the PDK wheel, as I was hoping for a multi-function paddleshift wheel.

I'm liking the new wing mirrors if for no other reason than they have no excuse not to put motors in them now to retract them from inside the cabin, as opposed to getting out and doing it manually like I have to atm. The rest of the outside is a little too close to the 997 for my taste, and I really thought the front and rear light clusters would look far different to that.

Even as a 911 fan, and modern 911s at that, I can't get excited by the 991 at all and won't be rushing down to swap any time soon. That said, I've no doubt it'll be an amazing car and better in every way than the outgoing model. Bring on the GT3!

I don't actually mind that, clearly playing very safe with the front but like the sleekness of the back.

All together a nice little car, no doubt sell like hot cakes.

Have to say I agree with others about the confusion over Porsches numbering system. I'm completely lost now....

7 speed manual?

Really?
Apparently it's a "manualised" auto.
A what?

(is the whoosh parrot heading my way?)
I picture this as a 3 pedal arrangement but with shift actuation from wheel mounted paddles. Could always be wrong tho'; Frankfurt should reveal all!

boring, boring , boring. c'mon Porsche make your designers do something for once. Too much of an exercise in making it look exactly the same as every other nine eleven.
It would be nice to see something a bit more adventurous for once

What is it with car manufacturers putting dumper truck size wheels on their cars! They look fookin' ridiculous.

Its lost it's droop.... not sure!
I was thinking it looked a little less rounded than the 996/997 and more in line with the er, line, of the 993 from the back of the roof down to the rear bumber. Which is not a bad thing at all.
