Going to miss the current 'simple' interior. New one looks to 'executive'/'corporate'/'luxury bargish'. Who'd have thought it - the current old fashioned interior was just starting to have it's time again - almost Elise like in it's simplicity and just plain different compared with new stuff.
I agree here, its a shame to see the end of the more traditional 911 interior - the 997 dash was perfect in my eyes.

boring, boring , boring. c'mon Porsche make your designers do something for once. Too much of an exercise in making it look exactly the same as every other nine eleven.
It would be nice to see something a bit more adventurous for once
but the blokes with beards would moan.

It is funny how porsche is slatted for evolving the design of the car, but when bangle did a revolutionary moment in his designs he was slatted, for designs which moved the brand forward, which were signed off b the to brass.

The 911 is the star, and until sales start to downturn i don't think the design will change significantly.

Means it will sell very well smile
Oh without doubt.

You see what's happening here is that Porsche's designers cannot afford to be too adventurous, otherwise they risk loosing touch with their typical clientel.

a lovely subtle evolution of the current car. Porsche have always had this right with the 911 and Boxster. They change it enough to create a clear difference, but not so much as to damage the desirability/value of the outgoing version..the quintessential sportscar..I want one, badly..

Not sure what I think tbh.

I like the back in isolation but it looks a bit futuristic in comparison to the retro front.

As for the front I'm not sure if maybe theyve made the new front lights just a little too big (almost cartoonish). Shades of VWs 'new' Beetle /irony

Will probably look great in the flesh, but currently I still prefer the 997 and 993. A point made rather moot by the fact that I can only afford a 996 (and an early one at that). One day....

I think the new 911 looks GREAT. Fantastic especially compared to Cayenne, Panerema. Yes Porsche stylists have not been too adventurous with the styling but the 997 facelift looked really BRILLIANT too. If aint broke dont fix it. Anyone only needs to look at BMW great designs E46/E39/E38 before Bangle came along with all of his flame surfacing. Any BMWs since the E46/E39/E38 era have not been good looking cars except the Z4 M Coupe from the rear. The older BMWs looked great too E30/E34/E9 etc.

I am wondering why they did not call it the 998????

I would be interested to know how they managed over a 100bhp/litre from a normally-aspirated engine which used to be the sole preserve of high-revolution concept normally-aspirated engines from road car manufacturers: Ferrari and BMW.

mid-engined with that rear overhang?
I know I sound barking, but I think its a function of the glass house finishing too early to my eye. With the overhang longer, but seemingly lower there seems to be more visual bulk inboard of the rear axle.

Don't be worried by these typically nasty German press pics. This is going to look awesome on the road.

Totally agree. Porsche need to employ a few designers, they don't design anything. This car just looks like they've just stretched the old one 5%, and spent a year on the piss.

Bet it drives like ste too, might as well buy a beetle.
May I suggest you open your eyes just for once and pull your head out of your arse?

They've been managing that for some time.

Front picture . . Cayman, Rear picture . . . Panama Cigar (or whatever it's called ) interior ? well, THAT colour & a bit too corporate (read Panama/ Cayenne)

Thank christ at least the side-on photos still look 911.
If the staff are still employed that did the rs4.0 ,no doubt it WILL get better as time goes on. So hopefully they still remember why we buy their kit ? ? ! !

Look great I think, but too much writing on the rear.

Either "P O R S C H E" or "911 Carrera S", but not both.
