RE: Production Aston Zagato Edges Closer
Discussion
Is it just me, or does anyone else see some styling cues from the Nissan GTR & 370? The roof line at the rear & the rear side windows. No bad thing by any means, personally i think it's one of the better looking high end cars of late.
Edit:- I didn't read other posts before posting, i see i'm not alone in seeing the similar styling.
Also, just noticed how st the wheels look.

i want to take the wheel designer at gaydon aside and tell him/her how utterly inappropriate recent aston wheel designs are ............. as if the v12 vantage wasn't bad enough they offer these? ..........Fail | |
I’m not sure if Gay Don or Gay Donna from Gaydon had anything to do with the wheel design, judging by this light-alloy option you can buy to “Quote” Perfect the athletic appearance of your BMW X5 !!!
God give me strength – only muppets like Zig and Zag are going to fall for that marketing line surely ??? Spaceship them back to planet Zog that’s what I say

Completely agree.
If I could ever afford a V12 Vantage, (which I can't) the first thing I'd do is fit the wheels from an earlier V8 Vantage.
Then you'd find that you'd have to put £15,000 of pads and discs in the bin since the CCM discs & pads on the V12 will not fit inside the V8 wheels. If I could ever afford a V12 Vantage, (which I can't) the first thing I'd do is fit the wheels from an earlier V8 Vantage.
Each to their own!
I actually think the grey mock-up is too conservative compared to the production V12V. The prototype shown at Villa d'Este with the dramatic splitter, deep scallops behind the front wheels and lack of rear win looks incredible. Bold without being contrived and keeping the same muscular stance as the production car. Interesting to see some of the styling cues arriving on the new GT3 V12V as well. I think it's important for AML to strike out with something a little different and this is their opportunity to quieten the folk who claim every model looks the same.

Or you could just put DBS wheels on - either way it gets rid of the utterly gash standard wheels
Then you will find that you will potentially crash the car during high speed turns under heavy suspension compression as the DBS wheels would hit the inside of the wheel arch.JohnG1 said:

You've obviously already looked into whether the V8 or DBS wheels will fit the V12.

No I have not. My wheels are graphite coated diamond cut forged aluminium. They are beautiful and they contrast with the mako blue (shimmery metallic baby blue) body and harmonise with the carbon fibre splitter, bonnet vents and diffuser.Tell the truth, do you secretly hate your wheels?
Add in what will probably be the last 6.0 V12 engine manual gearbox drivetrain that will be in mass production and frankly what's not to like?
