Cars You Can Identify From Noise Alone
Discussion
Imprezas are the most identifiable imo, but I can usually tell if there is a Lancer Evolution nearby just from the sound. A lot of people say the Lancer has a bland thrum, and maybe it does on the standard exhaust, but then I've never seen a single Lancer Evolution with a standard, factory exhaust!

See I heard everyone say the Ford Endura 1.3L was "the most tappety engine in existence", or "a petrol that sounds like a diesel", but my old Fiesta that had one didn't really sound tappy at all, apart from when I started it up in the depths of winter, amongst piles of snow, it sounded pretty bad as it wheezed into life, though mine only had 18,000 miles on when I got it and was in great condition - serviced every 3000 miles prior to me getting it. A lad I work with has a knackered old Fiesta with a load of miles on it and his does not making this tapping noise either...tap tap tap tap tap tap tap .. . . . . . . .
stands out a mile
