Lucky sod - he did put a lot of effort in though.

My initial entry never even got put on the site, but maybe I entered too late.

Wasn't there a Lotus competition on PH that went a little bit wrong once?!

Good effort - I was going to but I'm recovering from an injury so can't drive a manual, sadly the S doesn't come with the IPS gearbox otherwise I'd have gone for it.

Best of luck to him - it's a great prize and proably a good way into doing freelance work if he wants.

Apparently not- I got a phonecall asking me a few questions a month ago but I was out at the time and probably wasn't giving it my full attention. Ah well.

I entered quite late, and got a call to test drive an Evora earlier this week. Not heard anything since, so guess my write up wasn't in the top 20. Shame, but at least it was a good opportunity to drive the Evora without any sales pitch from the dealer.

Did he get an email or phone call or something today then?
Do you know how they were chosen? I hope there was a judging panel that read all of the reports and that they didn't just rely on the stupid anonymous voting star rating system as people just seem to be voting all the good reports 1 star in order to bring down their average and boost their own.

What was his profile on the site? I would be interested to read his report.

I entered, and got a call to do the test drive. Unfortunately the write up needed to be submitted by 12th August, and I was away on holiday so couldn't do it in time.

I'm not sure I ever saw that deadline posted anywhere though...

I've not had a chance to talk to him as he is away at the mo. I better ask him before putting his name on PH!
I'm pretty sure it isn't based on the star rating.
I didn't even get my initial 200 word entry on the site and I got an email telling me there were a huge amount of entries etc etc.

What has surprised me is some of the crap initial entries such as this that got through to the second round:

http://lotusdiaries.evo.co.uk/profile/jenellen

compared to some of the much better ones that don't seem to have been offered the test drive. confused

I think they extended it, because they didn't call me until the 18th August! The dealer said that they had had a call from Lotus that day saying that they have decided to release a few more accounts. I didn't see any deadline on the site either, and people still seemed to be adding reports this week.

Top 20 was only after you had done the testdrive and submitted your review/videos/pics etc

To be fair, her road test write up is quite entertaining (certainly different!), but I agree that with that 'Tell us why you would make a great correspondent for the Lotus Diaries?' bit, it's surprising she got an invite to the test drive stage.

When was it announced though? I did submit a review after the drive. Given that I got the test drive invite so late I'm curious to know whether there was still actually time for me to stand a chance of getting through to the next round!

Everyone who entered (early enough) got a test drive, or the chance to at least.

Oh, I stand corrected. Did you get a phone call from the marketing bloke?
