Having idly considered a Countach about 5 years ago for £40k, I just neasrly died on seeing they seem to have exploded in value. I knew they were on the up but there is one in the classifieds for just shy of £400k!!!!
And it will be there until the end of time.

They have gone up, but not by that much!

He's seriously having a laugh with that price, even considering the mileage.

Dar...Ghibli smile
I can certainly recommend a 308 GTS though for the experience smile

Er if you find a Ghibli spyder for that money have a VERY large backup fund! (Larger than the Bentley!)

'Sup Dave? God, last thing I need is a money pit! More than likely my red car is making its way to another owner so want to replace on a less epic scale. It’s been with us for 40 years and I started restoring it when I was 14!

Next to no chance of a Ghibli Spyder at that level, wishful thinking.

Like the idea of an e-type or a Healey, but have discounted because they are were produced in fair numbers and resale would prove challenging unless very keenly priced.

Howdo smile

Parting with her must be a kicker. My father once told me never to get sentimental about motor cars...they will only ever cost you money. Neither he nor I have ever followed that advice smile

Healey wise it a good shout, but I would be going down a Works Replica, they are about £50k now, prices stable to heading upwards.

Somebody mentioned the Gordon Keeble...I can fully recommend, they are a hell of a motorcar and you see maybe one for sale per year.

Ive been casting round on this same path myself and the value choice is absolute the Ghibli Coupe. They are Daytona rivals, but for 1/10th of the cost. Prices will only go one way, the Spyders are already £200k for a decent one.

A minter of a Dodge Charger 440 R/T. Or a decent 426 Hemi, don't care about numbers matching to be honest, they're tools to be abused!

Hmm, a slight Bora/Merak hybrid, but nevertheless:

£60,000?

I'd hedge my bets and have two or three different cars.

One of these, for starters...

And one of these...

And one of these...

That lot would keep me out of mischief for a while...

Oh yes thumbup

A C2 or early C3 convertible. Amazingly individual designs.

I thus choose something along these lines:

So have people simply given up on the OP's original question and is this thread just a place to post pictures of cars now?

...I was hoping for some rather more eclectic suggestions? Preferably something built in smaller numbers with a light, beautiful body (preferably a well known coach buidler).
It's a Ferrari OK but eclectic? Built in small numbers? Beautiful coachbuilt body scratchchin
