RE: German Supercar Aims For 2800hp
Discussion
So just when Mazda, the only big name left pushing the rotary engine (and experts on them), shelves said engine because it uses too much fuel and makes too many CO2's and eats oil.... these guys turn up saying theirs has rose petals coming out the back? Very strong whiff of something in here...
Also.... 8 Rotors, 4 turbos... Oh I expect that'll work for 0-60, once, then be in a thousand pieces.

Furthermore, rotary engines are by their very nature incredibly inefficient. The very physics of the design mean that the expanding combustion chamber is hugely thermally ineffective. If you were going to get that kind of economy from an engine, you would choose something running the conventional otto cycle.
A quick search of the names quoted on their website also returns this Facebook profile for the only person named Moritz Benner:
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1000019166...
And this LinkdIn page for Darren Wattez
http://www.linkedin.com/in/darrenwattiez
Moritz seems to resemble a 15 year old and Darren appears to be incredibly unfamiliar with punctuation for someone with a PHD and 23 years experience in Military Engineering.
Their press release claims they're getting Bosch Engineering to do their ESP application. This is indeed the correct company to do that job and it just so happens that I work with a number of the Bosch ESP development engineers so I shall fire an email to one of them tomorrow and ask the question as to whether there's any truth in this. I'm sure they'll be interested to know if their name is being linked to something if it's made up!
I'll report back!
Mr Ph.D also appears to have progressed to his engineering doctorate via a farming diploma from Moulton college, which is.. er.. unconventional, to say the least. A quick search of the names quoted on their website also returns this Facebook profile for the only person named Moritz Benner:

A thousand pieces? Nope. Just one. Very hot.......slightly molten.Also.... 8 Rotors, 4 turbos... Oh I expect that'll work for 0-60, once, then be in a thousand pieces.
This is the funnist website i have ever seen regarding cars.
1, bespoke tyres $$$
2, Bespoke engine $$$
3, bespoke gearbox $$$
The bugatti veyron had all those and to get that lot working took the might of VW group
5.6g braking, more than an F1 car then?
for me however the ulimate laugh is the fact the claim to hold the lap record for Nurburgring without have ever built the car..
The last website that was this good was USGP

Quite appalling, but 10/10 for the Top Trumps car connections and Dangerous Sports Club hobbies combined with running a farm - must have a lot of well rotted manure around there....I also note on their website that they are developing all the electronic systems with this, mainly defence based company:

Might give them a ring and see if they can detect BS

OK, everybody rest easy - it's just a marketing stunt to try and get someone to put some money in:
What is the current project status, when you could start with the production of the Predator GT?
Moritz Benner: The design is completed and all development partners and suppliers are selected and in the wings. With Mino Camilotti we could also an "old hand" delight in this industry for our project. Currently we are looking for investors to secure the financial future of the company to. If everything goes according to plan, the first approved RSC Predator GT 2012 is delivered.
emissionslos.com: On what car shows you are exhibiting the GT Predator?
Benner Moritz: At all relevant, but not only are luxury car shows fairs in our interest, but also boats and such.
emissionslos.com: Have you pre-orders?
Moritz Benner: Yes, one. This may not be much, but against the backdrop of the current project status, there is more than expected.
emissionslos.com: You are looking for investors, what should an ideal partner to bring out even more money?
Moritz Benner: We are looking for investors who are interested in sports cars with innovative technology and want to be part of this unique project.
emissionslos.com: How should the company develop long term, you are planning more models?
Moritz Benner: We want a small piece of the pie, that's it really the best. There are ideas for a roadster and a SUV in the drawer. Whether these models will ever be more than one idea naturally depends on the progress of our company.
emissionslos.com: Do you actively participate in motor sport?
Moritz Benner: With this question we have to be honest yet not employed. Time will tell, I think.
emissionslos.com: What return can investors expect?
Moritz Benner: In addition to a very high return on success, investors get a lot more. They are a part of our team! You will be involved in decisions concerning the equipment of special models or take part in the design process of vehicles! We believe those who invest in our idea that deserves some say. Nevertheless, we point out that every company, no matter how innovative and interesting, poses risks. Therefore, an investment risk than investment should be considered. Each investor must be clear about the fact that we in no way guarantees given on sales figures or the like. We can not guarantee these numbers depending on the level of the yield. Of these risks, we too can not disown us.
We convince you closer to you in a personal conversation about our unique concept and bring you to our company. If you are interested in an investment please contact us at XXXXXXXXX

Dont forget that the bizarre way Mazda seem to think they can rate their engine the 1.3Ltr actually sucks in and burns 3.9Ltr of air and fule every revolution of the rotor.
This means the "2.6Ltr" race motor is actually over 7.8Ltr which make the performance look 'unsuprising' which is probably why they like to 'suggest' its so much smaller than it really is.
Once you start adding turbos you can have any power you want...within reason obviously.
That's the equivalent (on the 2800bhp "5.2 litre" car) of a 360ish bhp 2 litre engine. This means the "2.6Ltr" race motor is actually over 7.8Ltr which make the performance look 'unsuprising' which is probably why they like to 'suggest' its so much smaller than it really is.

That's why wankel engines are so good at making big numbers, people don't use the correct maths!
Genuine 1.5Ltr F1 turbo engines of the early 80's were producing 900bhp+
Thats why wankel engines are so poor, people dont use the correct maths!!!
