RE: New 4.0 V8 for Audi S6, S8 and S7 Sportback
Discussion
The big questions though are:
Owned an S-line A6 Avant from next for approx 6 months (see profile) and those two factors really grated. Plus the dog hated it, but that's another matter.
- will the A6 still be nose-heavy?
- will the S-line cars still have shocking ride quality and obominable road noise?

Can't see a V8 making the nose less heavy and the front overhang is as enormous as ever.- will the A6 still be nose-heavy?
Marketing speak reigns supreme
Not sure why they always say nose heavy, and then quote weight distribution which is often reasonable in figure terms. It's the yaw inertia that is the biggest single issue I would imagine... but Audi won't tell you them because it's probably the same as the V10 one anyway
Just trying to sell you a cheaper naffer engine dressed up as being better for dynamics.

The air suspension on the V10 S8 was fantastic; excellent ride quality and handling (yes, most unusual in most sporty Audis), especially in mid to high-speed corners.
If it's a similar system in the new ones, then the handling and ride should be much better than past experience suggests.
With the active diffs at 40/60 split, Audis are (slowly, sure) getting better and better.
