You do know the log book is the property of the DVLA and by selling it you are committing theft?

eBay are as aware they are breaking the law as you are. Basically they are acting as a fence.

While it's making money for them they aren't going to put a stop to it.

Because you are not selling a document on its own even though that isn't yours to sell in the first place. You are including the VIN plates so you are selling Ringing Kits.

You know exactly what you are selling, who is likely to buy and why. As far as I am concerned you are as guilty as the thieving scum who have either taken a car already or will steal one to order after they buy your Ringing Kit.

I have passed your other listing on the the RS Owners Club and details including screen grabs have been passed on to the Police should you decide to remove or try to delete these illegal listings.

Here's a good clean example of a four door, right hand drive, Mk2, Escort 1.3L originally registered in Huddersfield.

Wow - Haven't seen a Javelin for a while. It had some merit I guess, but looking like an ugly Capri maybe wasn't a great idea. Definitely looks to be incorrectly registered.

Have ebay stopped reacting to these?

I've reported the following ringing kit three time and it is still for sale!

205 GTI - D630 UDP - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-205-gti-logbook...

Looks like it's been off the road and / or scrapped a very long time ago based on the last info on the .gov checker.

Remember...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/282572104314

...it's the chassis number not the body number that is retained.

This is a radically altered chassis, series body and registered as an Austin so place your bets how legitimate any of the parts are.

For £30,000 it's not worth the risk of having it seized and destroyed.

Is this in the spirit of this thread?

I think it seems to be fishier than a fishy thing.

It's pretty pointless reporting these to eBay anymore as they tend to just leave the listings up now.

Not sure how, but a guy on a Ford Facebook page managed to contact someone from eBay's customer service about the legality of allowing these listings to run. The person who replied suggested that the listings were perfectly legal as long as they were listed as "Memorabilia" for collecting purposes.

Expect to see a flood of V5's & ID tags being listed as Memorabilia from now on then rolleyes

Ringing Kit report...

Government property report...

...than you to eBay for allowing me to use their images and trademarks under "fair usage".
