That's unusual; it's normally another dodgy kit car registered as a Dutton!

The only one positive is it looks to have a CoPart sticker in the windscreen so it has been purchased from a salvage auction. Whilst it will not show on HPI it should show on a V-Check.

I'm thinking about giving a Petition another go. This time making a simple engine number check part of the MOT and if the number does not match the DVLA database (V5C) or it has been removed, tampered with or damaged an instant fail and the vehicle ordered off the road.

What do you guys think?

And what if the engine number cannot be read without removing trim/parts as it is on many modern cars? Also I think you may be underestimating the amount of everyday cars that have had replacement engines, for example a 2010-2016 Hyundai ix35 1.6 petrol is not uncommon to be on its 2nd or even 3rd engine.

Reg plate is too old for stated production year....... It could be a 'cherished plate' though? I don't have enough mini knowledge to know whether body features match age redface
Listed as saloon (not convertible)?

Spotted this gem on a Facebook group.

I hypothesise that the only thing left of this "GMC" is the Can, and the rest is a cunningly disguised, illegally registered Iveco Daily. Very nicely put together, but illegal nonetheless.

Close, but it is a private plate.

Registered 1983 Mk4 Mini but is a later (1985-2000) Mk5 shell.

I've seen this a few times before. Usually a Morris Minor shell on a Range Rover or Suzuki chassis. People don't realise (or they do and hope they can get away with it) that it's the chassis number that is retained not the body.

One for this...
