But even as a petrolhead...so what?
You aren't impressed by those figures?
For a road car? No.
Any supercar will have you aghast at the performance and you'll buy based on what it looks like probably.
Where are you going to do 0-200? A RWYB?
It has to be the most pointless statistic ever.
What? 0-200-0mph in 24.96secs, isn't impressive? confused
How about buying a car based on how it drives? it might be absolutely fantastic to drive and that acceleration/stopping power will just add to it.
As for your comment about speed, why have you got a 400+ BHP Mustang? where are you going to use that power? A RWYB?

Not really.

Could be very handy should you happen to be pursued by a Tsunami wave up the M1. scratchchin

It might also not be fantastic to drive because its been honed to achieve this figure. Do you really believe you will be able to use all that acceleration on a public road?

My point is that most supercars offer more than sufficient power and more than I could probably cope with in terms of acceleration so I wouldn't buy a car based on that statistic.

Poor final point. You can certainly use the full acceleration of a 460hp car on a public road and yes, I would use it at a RWYB.

Firstly what is a RWYB?
So you basically think any car with huge performance is pointless?I don't really understand the comments about most supercars having enough performance ..you can definitely notice the difference between 400bhp and 500bhp...so 1000bhp won't be similar in anyway.. it will be bast@rd scary a HUGE adrenalin rush

I guess they took the roof mounted Ski box off for that record run? smile

Pretty exclusive Ski box, even the ski's have been especially branded lick

Also gotta love this sticker on their Dihedral Syncros Helix Door Actuation opening.

Perhaps if they opened these whilst up close and personal to one of standard UK 125mm height kerbs they could get their 300-0km/h time down even further ??? wink

If he's referring to "run what ya brung" by RWYB i'll laugh for a week. That was an old Max Power type of quote back in the early 90's, usually a term for lads that turned up with modded Nova's & such like.

These cars are the ultimate in expression of the hyper rich, who even in these market free fall times still have enough cash to say "Meh, I don't have one of those, must get one before my equally loaded mate \ rival does".

Don't get me wrong, massive achievement and the engineering behind it is awesome.

I don't believe we'll see a racing series with them though smile

Eh? Its still a term used at many drag strips for days where you can do exactly that (opposed to the days where the professional drag cars run).

Well get ready to break some ribs then, because that's exactly what it is.

Lusifer, I'm guessing you said the same thing when the Veyron was revealed? along with every Ferrari from the 80's to now, every Lambo, every Aston, every etc.

Every manufacturer which produces a fast car bleats on about how fast it is/how quick it accelerates.

My point being, that term is for the average guy in the street, i wouldn't have thought many Koenigsegg owners turn up.

I misinterpreted your comment there (hey.....it's monday...), i have to agree with you, the chance to use all that power is limited. Sadly, many hypercars are just playthings for the rich to use as a status symbol & in some cases a tax write off. I wonder how many of this generations elite cars will be so fondly remembered in the future in the way a Miura or an F40 is today.
