My point being, that term is for the average guy in the street, i wouldn't have thought many Koenigsegg owners turn up.
Many super cars go to RWYB. Shows what you know.[/qu

Firstly read my comment, i didn't mention "super cars", i mentioned "Koenigsegg" which as far as i'm aware is a hypercar, as you say, show's what you know. I know i've never seen a Koenigsegg at any track day i've been to in any supercar i've taken, or on any of my many trips to the Nurburgring.

laugh They are quite rare. Is Hypercar an official term now? I thought that was a Top Gear made up term.

If Top Gear quoted it, it is FACT!

We all know that nothing can out drag a re-mapped 335d, but to be fair to the Koenigsegg it is running is standard tune wink

I just assumed that was the term for the batst insane cars such as this & the Veyron????????

The lines have been blurred somewhat over the years, do we still call a 911 a supercar? As the 911 i had would have been destroyed by a modern RS Audi, or any of the Japanese rally replicas. What we need is clarity on this!

But even as a petrolhead...so what?
You aren't impressed by those figures?
For a road car? No.
Any supercar will have you aghast at the performance and you'll buy based on what it looks like probably.
Where are you going to do 0-200? A RWYB?
It has to be the most pointless statistic ever.
The way I see it, I'm impressed, in the same way as I'm impressed with the space shuttle, I bet that has a good 0-200 time. I'll never own either of them, but I'd love a go in either, in space, on a track, anywhere, it's irrelevant, and it's impressive.

What's worse, spouting something inane, or being slow to the draw?

Incidentally, I'm not too impressed with the 186-200mph time - 3.15 secs? wink

The 335d comment always makes me laugh...so childish but simple and amusing wink

That's pretty phenomenal given that some cars on sale today won't even hit 60 in 17 seconds (and I'm sure there are some which would struggle to hit 60 in 24 seconds.

I wonder if this will beat the Ultimata 0 to 100 to 0 (unofficial) record too?
Here's the Ultima GTR records, from their website

The term super usually refers to something above and beyond the norm..so although these cars cars have moved on from 80-90's super cars so have all other cars..hot hatches with 300bhp.. saloons with 500bhp..I don't think a standard 911 is a supercar when you can get similar performance in a 3 series

That's the thing, you see. Where the mapped 335d beats all other cars hands down is torque. Did you know that at 800rpm it has more torque than an InterCity 125? It'll easily see off an F1 car but is band under the rules and regs for being too fast.

Taken from the OP.

The Swedish hypercar also posted 0-300km/h in 14.53secs and 300-0km/h in 6.66secs.

It is a red Koenigsegg Agera R and then it sets a time (for braking) of 6.66. So does this mean it is 'Satan's' daily driver? laugh

I personally think this a great achievement!

There are arguments on this thread debating if these stats are of any use to us , and frankly we wouldn't probabaly use 50% of this cars abilities but it is nice that people are still trying.

I would hate it if supercar makers started trying to get the lowest C02 and highest MPG as that isn't the point of them.

For many hyper-cars they end up in horrible wraps around Harrods but there are people that use hem 'how they ought to be driven' and have a great time.

Well Done Koenigsegg. beer
