The guy that won seems clinically insane.
Christ! I thought he was going to nut someone. On a different note I've found that since learning to drive, I've since got worse on driving games on the playstation. There is no feel as to what anything is doing, even with a logitech G25 wheel!

Did anyone on here enter the competition?
I didn't enter but I was actually there as a guest at Dunsfold with DC in the morning, those crazy Merc guys actually let ME have a go in the SLS - they even let me have a "launch control" start! All in all a great way to start the week.

I can answer that! They needed to balance the odds a little bit because in the morning people were getting into the 14s on the PS3s and they needed to give DC a fighting chance. I think the fact it was down to five tenths suggests they got it about right. Though they were bricking it down at Dunsfold when it started to rain just before the race!

I have no idea who Swizz Beatz is - but the Playstation brand and Gran Turismo are equally lost on the kids these days too.
PS3 trails XBOX and Wii in worldwide software/hardware sales, current gen software isn't selling the volumes that previous gen titles did - hell, GT5 has yet to surpass the sales of Need for Speed Underground on the PS2 alone!
Gaming is still growing - but that growth is mostly coming from mobile/social gaming. Portable consoles are on the way out and home consoles have a lot of thinking to do as they reach their shelf-life - we're not at the leading edge of marketting here...
Your absolutely on the money there mate. I'm the only PS3 owner I know of who's kept GT5 since launch of my mates and their extended mates, GT was always hard and thats what it was about, now its not so much difficult as wearing. I try to love it i really do but unless Kaz really pulls out all the stops in the run up to the launch of fraudza 4 i think mircosoft and their inclusion of the Sierra Cosworth amongst other 'relevant -and more importantly, influenced by the 'community'- cars' has me sold regardless of lack of dynamics and physics.PS3 trails XBOX and Wii in worldwide software/hardware sales, current gen software isn't selling the volumes that previous gen titles did - hell, GT5 has yet to surpass the sales of Need for Speed Underground on the PS2 alone!

I think by associating with the biggest gaming let down of last year with a car that many will already loathe from the Mercedes racing acadamy section of the game would be like Lotus taking over 50 cents freelance urban pharmaceutical dispenser operations, mo' money mo' problems y'all. It cant reflect well, especially as it is a clear and cynical marketing ploy to make people briefly forget the imminent launch of Forza and the legendary blue oval Cosworths.
I had a crack at this today got a 1.19 had to stop before that damn merc angered me to the point where my lovely television was at danger from my steelies. It really is an awful car.
- edit to add, you get a better launch by reversing upto the cones blocking off the section of road behind the start line.

Only tenuously related, but how do you unlock the TG test track in GT5? I thought you could only use it in the ridiculously difficult "Top Gear Challenge", with the VW bus and Lotus Elise?
Do you have to get gold in the TG challenge (probably impossible for me), or does it unlock at level 40?
Was really looking forward to pretending to be the Stig, but was really disappointed when I got GT5 and the test track isn't included as a "playable" track.
